Steps:
- Crack the cardamom seeds and nutmeg with a heavy skillet on a cutting board. Toss them into a saucepan with the caraway seed, cloves, allspice berries, cinnamon sticks, peppercorns, saffron, ginger, turmeric, orange zest and lemon zest. Pour in the water, and bring to a boil. Cover, and simmer until the liquid is reduced by 1/2. Strain out spices, and set the liquid aside.
- Pour honey into a large pot, and bring to a boil over medium heat. Skim off any foam from the top. Stir in the strained liquid from the spices and vanilla extract. Remove from heat and place far from the stove to avoid any flare-ups from the grain alcohol. Slowly stir in the grain alcohol. Place the pot back onto the burner over low heat and cover. Heat through, being careful not to boil or even simmer. Remove from heat and let stand overnight with the lid on.
- The following day, pour the liquid into sterile bottles, seal, and allow to settle for 2 weeks. The longer you let it sit, the clearer it will become and the better it tastes. Serve warm.

- At the end of the minute, take it off the heat, and leave to cool for 5 minutes, before we add the vodka. This is important, as we don’t want the alcohol evaporating in the steaming liquid.
- At the end of 5 minutes, add the vodka, stir well with a wooden spoon, cover tightly with a lid or foil, and leave to steep overnight.

- Crush the dry ingredients in a mortar and pestle or in a bag with a hammer. Add to a French press with the 1.5 tbsp loose tea. You can also boil the water in a kettle or pot, then add the dry ingredients.
- Bring the water to a boil, add to the dry ingredients and brew for 10 minutes. Pour hot tea solution into a pitcher, add honey, orange and lemon extracts and mix.
- Let the bottles sit for at least a few weeks, in a dark, cool place for gravity pull the sediment to the bottom. Siphon the clear amber liquid out the bottles using small tubing (a process similar to racking wine) into new bottles or decanters. Take the all cloudy remains, consolidate it into a separate bottle and allow that to settle again before siphoning again. Depending upon how well you siphon (and the amount of sediment you’re willing to put up with), you may need to re-rack the liqueur a few times.
