KRIS'S SHAVED AND STEAMED BROCCOLI



Kris's Shaved and Steamed Broccoli image

This simple side dish is ready in just a few minutes; serve it with a sprinkle of red pepper flakes over the top.

Number Of Ingredients 4

3 head broccoli, florets separated and each one shaved into quarters
Extra-virgin olive oil
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Boil 1/4-inch of water in a 3-quart saucepan. Lift broccoli from cold water into the pan and cover. Steam for 3 minutes. Remove from the pan and put into a serving dish. Drizzle with olive oil. Toss with salt and red pepper flakes to coat.

1 head broccoli, cut into florets
1 slice cooked bacon, chopped
1 tablespoon butter
salt and ground black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Place a steamer insert into a saucepan and fill with water to just below the bottom of the steamer. Bring water to a boil. Add broccoli, cover, and steam until tender, 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Mix steamed broccoli, bacon, butter, salt, and pepper together in a bowl.
