Steps:
- Slice the beef as thinly as you can, then set aside in a large bowl. Using frozen or cold beef will make the slicing easier.
- In a blender or food processor, blend the onion chunks, garlic, pear, green onion pieces, brown sugar, pepper, soy sauce, and sesame oil until smooth.
- Pour the marinade over the beef, add the thinly sliced onion, then mix to coat evenly. Cover with plastic wrap and marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, or overnight.
- Heat the canola oil in a large skillet over high heat. Pat the meat dry.
- Being careful not to crowd the pan, sear the marinated beef and onions until browned. Sprinkle with the sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
- Serve with rice and side dishes.
- Enjoy!

FANTASTIC KOREAN-STYLE MARINADE FOR BEEF PORK OR CHICKEN
There should be enough marinade for about 2-1/2 pounds of beef or chicken you may double the marinade ingredients but keep the fresh garlic and green onion at the same amount --- the meat needs to come down to almost room temperature before grilling so plan well ahead, also there is a marinating time of 8-24 hours, you may omit the cayenne completely if desired or adjust to suit heat level.

EASY KOREAN FLANK STEAK

Steps:
- Place your steak slices in a large ziplock bag (I used gallon sized)
- Add all the marinade ingredients to the bag along with the steak
- Seal the bag, mix together thoroughly, and let sit in your fridge for at least 1 hour
- When ready, heat a large skillet or wok over medium high - high heat (your pan needs to be hot so the steak can get a good, hard sear in a short amount of time)
- Add a bit of vegetable oil and cook your steak in batches. Do not overcrowd your steak or it won't brown. Cook it kind of like you do bacon slices
- Your pan should be hot enough and your steak slices should be thin enough that you only need a minute or two per side - it cooks very quickly
- When all your steak is cooked, garnish with sesame seeds and green onions and serve!

- Step 1: Make the marinade. In a blender, puree the 2 tablespoons ginger with 2 tablespoons soju. Strain the ginger puree through a fine mesh strainer into a medium bowl to get the ginger juice.
- Step 2: To the ginger-soju liquid, add the 6 tablespoons Korean soy sauce, 1/4 cup minced scallions, 3 tablespoons sesame oil, 3 tablespoons granulated cane sugar, 3 tablespoons dark brown sugar, 2 tablespoons minced garlic, 2 tablespoons sesame seeds, 2 tablespoons pear juice and 1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper. Stir well to make sure all the sugar is dissolved. Keep in the fridge until needed.
- Step 3: In a container, combine 2 pounds of meat and/or vegetables with the marinade. Using your hands, massage the meat to work the marinade into the meat. Let sit in the fridge for about 30 minutes, no more than that.
- Step 4: Grill the meat over medium heat, about 2-3 minutes on each side, taking care not to burn the meat (alternately cook on a grill pan or under the broiler).
