Easy Kiwi Sorbet Recipe - Only TWO ingredients needed! image

Kiwi Sorbet is light, refreshing, and makes a great summer snack. This recipe is made with only two ingredients - kiwi and lime! This has to be one of the easiest kiwi recipes out there.

Categories     Dessert     Snack

Time 1h15m

Number Of Ingredients 2

3 kiwis
½ tbsp lime juice

Steps:

  • Peel the kiwis and slice them into rounds. Place the slices on a lined baking sheet and pop them into the freezer until solid - approximately 1-2 hours.
  • Transfer the frozen kiwi slices to a food processor or high-speed blender and add the fresh lime juice. Pulse the fruit until it reaches the consistency of sorbet. You may have to scrape the sides down a few times to break up any chunks.
  • Serve immediately or freeze. If you are freezing it will need 15 - 20 minutes to thaw enough to eat.
  • This recipe can easily be doubled, tripled, or quadrupled!

Time 8h30m

Yield 1 quart

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 pound 6 ounces kiwis, peeled and pureed
1 pint of sugar syrup (use an extra 3 tablespoons if kiwis are tart), recipe follows
1 to 2 teaspoons lemon juice

1 pint water
2 cups granulated sugar

Steps:

  • Place the pureed kiwis, sugar syrup, and lemon juice in the ice cream machine freezer. Begin freezing according to manufacturer?s instructions.

  • Remove to a sealable container. Keep in the freezer.
  • Place both in a saucepan. Bring to the boil. As the liquid clears, cover and let cool. Store in the refrigerator; will keep for weeks.
  • *Chef Notes: Since this ice cream is made without stabilizers, preservatives, or frothing agents, you should not store for more than 1 to 2 weeks.

KIWI SORBET

A light and refreshing sorbet, great at the end of a summer meal. Use riper fruit for a fuller flavor.

Provided by Marie95

Categories     Frozen Desserts

Time 1h10m

Yield 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

5 -6 kiwi fruits, peeled
1 1/2 cups water
3/4 cup sugar
1 tablespoon lime juice
1/4 cup orange juice

Steps:

  • Start by putting the water in a saucepan, add the sugar and put on low heat, just long enough for the sugar to dissolve. Remove from heat and place in the fridge or freezer while you prepare the other items.
  • Peel kiwis and cut into large pieces. Place in a blender and blend until liquified. Use enough kiwis to get about 2 cups of kiwi juice in the blender.
  • Pour the kiwi juice into the water/sugar, pouring through a strainer if you want to remove seeds, though they are ok if they remain.
  • Add lime juice and orange juice, mix until well blended. Chill in fridge or freezer for about an hour, then pour into an ice cream/sorbet maker following instructions that came with your machine. Enjoy!

This quick, easy dessert is so cool and refreshing. The riper the fruit, the sweeter the sorbet will be. This recipe can easily be doubled to serve 4. Prep time doesn't include freezer time. From the cookbook Lean and Luscious and Meatless.
