Steps:
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Add the trimmed green beans and cook, stirring often, until the beans are bright and glossy and slightly brown.
- Add the garlic and season with salt, black pepper and optional seasonings. Cook, stirring constantly, until the garlic is fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Add water and cover with lid. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the beans are bright green and crisp-tender.
- Season to taste as needed and serve with toasted nuts and lemon wedges, if desired.

- Place a cast-iron skillet on medium heat to preheat while you season the pork chops.
- Season the pork chops with the garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper to taste.
- Drizzle the olive oil throughout the skillet. Ensure the pan is fully coated with oil.
- Add the pork chops to the pan. Cook each side for 4-5 minutes until the pork reaches an internal temperature of at least 145 degrees. Use a meat thermometer. Cook time will vary based on the size of your pork chops.
- Remove the pork chops from the pan. Set aside.
- Add the butter to the skillet with the onions.
- Spread the butter throughout the pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the onions become translucent and fragrant.
- Add the whipping cream and chicken broth to the pan. Stir.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes or until both have become incorporated and the sauce begins to thicken.
- Add the pork chops back to the skillet.
- Serve.

- Cook bacon in an oven-proof skillet over medium-high heat until brown and crispy, 5 to 6 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon to a paper towel-lined plate, reserving bacon grease in the skillet. Reduce heat to medium and add enough butter to equal 2 tablespoons of fat in the skillet.
- Add green beans to the skillet and season with salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle with garlic powder, toss to coat, and saute for 3 to 4 minutes. Add water to help steam the beans. Continue cooking until water has evaporated and beans are crisp-tender or cooked to your liking, 3 to 4 more minutes.
- Set an oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the oven's broiler.
- Top beans with shredded Cheddar cheese and sprinkle with cooked bacon.
- Place skillet under broiler until cheese has melted, about 1 minute. Serve immediately.
