JEFFERSON DAVIS PIE
This pie is extremely rich and should be served in small wedges. It's especially good with a dollop of bourbon whipped cream.

Steps:
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
- In a large bowl, mix white sugar, brown sugar, and flour.
- Add softened butter, cream, eggs and vanilla. Mix until well blended. Pour into 2 unbaked pie shells.
- Bake at 425 degrees F (220 degrees C) for 10 minutes, then reduce temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and continue baking for 45 to 50 minutes.
- Bourbon Whipped Cream: Whip cream and add sugar gradually until stiff peaks form. Once cream is whipped, gently fold in the bourbon.

JEFF DAVIS PIE
This was a pie that was pasted down from my grandmother. Great for quick dessert for large family.

- 2. Cook at 350 for 45 minutes or until golden brown.

This is an old southern recipe.

- Mix together the sugar, flour and spices. Stir in butter. Beat in eggs and add milk and vanilla. Mix well.
- Pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake 10 to 15 minutes at 400 degrees F (205 degrees C), then reduce heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and bake 30 minutes more or until pie sets.

ALABAMA JEFFERSON DAVIS PIE
This recipe came about after a trip to Mississippi, New Orleans and Alabama...had a pie in a restaurant in Alabama that was awesome but they wouldn't give me the recipe. This was the closest I could come to duplicating it.

Steps:
- In a large bowl, thoroughly blend sugar, flour and nutmeg.
- Stir in half and half, add eggs, mix well.
- Add lemon juice, peel and margarine.
- Beat well to blend.
- Pour into pie shell, bake in preheated 375° oven 45 minutes or until center is almost firm.
- Cool.
- Serve with whipped cream, if desired.

- Make pie crust. Place flour, sugar, and salt in a food processor and process until for a few seconds to combine.
