1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 eggs, yolks and whites separated
1/2 cup oil
1 3/4 cups milk

Steps:

  • Preheat you waffle iron as directed.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, add the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Use a whisk to combine. Make a small well in the center of the dry ingredients.
  • In a second medium bowl, use a hand mixer to beat the egg whites until they form stiff peaks.
  • Add the egg yolks, oil, and milk to the well and use the whisk to slowly combine the wet and dry ingredients. Stir well until very few lumps remain.
  • Fold in the beaten egg whites, taking care not to over mix.
  • Pour the batter into your waffle iron according to manufacturer's directions.
  • When the waffle is done cooking, carefully place it on a wire rack to cool, taking care not to stack the waffles on top of each other. Repeat with remaining batter.
  • Serve waffles hot with your favorite topping such as buttermilk syrup, fruit, or whipped cream.

2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup sugar
3-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
2 large eggs, separated
1-1/2 cups whole milk
1 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Sliced fresh strawberries or syrup

Steps:

  • In a bowl, combine flour, sugar and baking powder. In another bowl, lightly beat egg yolks. Add milk, butter and vanilla; mix well. Stir into dry ingredients just until combined. Classic Fluffy Belgian Waffles are super easy, delicious, and quick, ready in just 20 minutes. They are crispy, light, and fluffy.

3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
1 large egg white
1 large egg yolk
3/4 cup whole milk
1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Optional - maple syrup, fruit, whipped cream, etc.

Steps:

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
  • Using a separate mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, milk, oil and vanilla.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir in.
  • In the mixing bowl of a stand mixer with the whisk attachment, whisk the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  • With a rubber spatula, gently fold in the whipped egg whites to the batter. Stir until no white streaks remain.
  • Preheat a double-sided flipping waffle iron and spray both sides with non-stick spray. Click for a double sided flipping waffle iron.
  • Pour half of the batter into each side of the double sided waffle iron.
  • Cook until the waffles are golden brown, about 7 - 10 minutes. Follow the cooking instructions for your specific waffle iron. Mine has lights on it that tell you when to flip it and when it's done cooking.
  • Top with your favorite toppings like maple syrup, fruit, whipped cream, etc.
  • Serve immediately.

4 eggs, separated
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups milk, warmed
3/4 cup melted butter
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice

Steps:

  • Beat egg yellow until light. Add a small amount of melted butter and quickly stir to temper the yolks. Add the remaining melted butter, vanilla and lemon juice; mix well.
  • Combine flour, salt, sugar and cinnamon together in separate bowl.
  • Add warmed milk to flour mixture.
  • Add egg yolk mixture to flour mixture and beat well.
  • Beat egg white until stiff. Gently fold into batter.
  • Pour batter onto heated waffle iron and cook until lightly crisp and golden. Serve with hot syrup, fresh berries, whipped cream, or bananas and chocolate chips.
