THE PERFECT MARGARITA
Mastering the margarita requires a certain amount of practice, but once you dial-in your perfect ratio, it's a really easy cocktail to replicate. The classic recipe is 3 parts tequila, 2 parts triple sec, and 1 part freshly squeezed lime juice, and you should probably start off pretty close to that, but my personal favorite proportions are 4-3-2.

MARGARITA COCKTAIL
Served straight up or on the rocks, the margarita is one of the most popular cocktails of all time. And for good reason! It will cool you down on a hot day or warm you up on a cool day. Any day is a good day for a margarita.

MEXICAN MARTINI
Originally the Mexican Martini was just a large margarita in Austin, Tex. But the presentation calls for the margarita to be served in a martini glass, with olives on a spear. Because it is about twice as large as a regular drink, customers are usually given the cocktail shaker and invited to pour it themselves.

MARGARITA MARTINI
Saw this very simple drink in Food Network Magazine and calling this a martini made me giggle. It's nothing fancy with ingredients most probably have on hand. The good part is that it will still make you as drunk as any of its martini or margarita counterparts.

JANICE'S MARGARITA MARTINIS FOR A PARTY
I had these at a friend's house, and they were so good I had to ask for the recipe. She had found it in a magazine, but couldn't remember which one. She had NOT chilled the glasses, but the drinks were just fine anyway. The exact number of servings depends on how much Cointreau is added.

Steps:
- Just before serving, in a ½-gal pitcher combine the tequila, 1 cup Cointreau,& 1 cup lime juice; taste and add more Cointreau if needed to balance the lime.
- Pour about 1/4 cup lime juice onto one small plate, and 1/4 cup salt onto another.
- Have martini glasses (preferably 5 oz) at hand (chilled, if possible).
- As guests request martinis, invert a glass into the plate with the lime juice to moisten rim, then lightly dip into salt.
- For each drink measure 2 oz (4 Tbs) of the tequila mixture into a cocktail shaker--do up to 3 drinks at a time.
- Add ice cubes (5 standard-size cubes for 1 drink, 8 for 2, 10 for 3).
- Shake vigorously 10-15 seconds and strain into the salt-crusted glasses.
- Replenish the lime juice and salt in dipping plates as needed.
