2 pounds fresh young peas in their pods
1 cup butter

Steps:

  • Boil peas in their pods in salted water for 10 minutes. Drain and place in one or two bowls.
  • Melt butter over low heat and place in two or more bowls.
  • To eat, take a pod by the stem, dip it into the butter and suck the peas out while scraping the thin, sweet layer of the pod.
