Steps:
- Cut end off cabbage and cut into cubes approx 1.5"x1.5" squares.
- Pour broth and put stick of butter into pot with cut cabbage on top.
- Close lid and steam valve and set to high pressure for 4 minutes followed by a 2 minute natural release.
- Then quickly release rest of pressure. Taste and season with salt and pepper as desired. Serve immediately for best results.

- Turn on a multi-functional pressure cooker (such as Instant Pot®) and select Saute function. Add oil and allow to heat. Add onion and peppers to hot oil; cook until they begin to get tender, 3 to 4 minutes. Add sausages and cook, breaking them up with a wooden spoon, until lightly browned, 4 to 5 minutes. Add garlic and saute for 1 to 2 minutes. Add marinara sauce, water, spinach, pasta, basil, and Italian seasoning; mix to combine. Cancel Saute function.
- Close and lock the lid. Select high pressure according to manufacturer's instructions; set timer for 5 minutes. Allow 10 to 15 minutes for pressure to build.
- Release pressure using the natural-release method according to manufacturer's instructions, 5 minutes. Then release pressure carefully using the quick-release method according to manufacturer's instructions, about 5 minutes. Unlock and remove the lid. Stir in 1/2 cup shredded Italian cheese until combined. Serve with remaining cheese sprinkled on top.

- In a large mixing bowl put the onions, cabbage and garlic. Set aside.
- In a dutch oven, or other large vessel, put the olive oil. Slice the sausages (hot or mild) into bite-size pieces, adding more if you want more meat.
- Heat the oil over high heat, and when hot, add the sausage pieces and stir-fry until well browned.
- Add the ingredients from the mixing bowl, the salt, pepper, vinegar and water.
- Mix well for 2-3 minutes.
- Cover, reduce heat to medium-low, and cook for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. If needed, add a bit more water.
- When the cabbage is very tender, remove cover and increase heat to evaporate any excess liquid. Check for salt.

- Turn the pressure cooker to Saute high, once heated add the bacon grease (or the butter).
- Add the sliced onion to the pot and saute it in the grease until cooked through and soft, which takes about 6-7 minutes.
- Press the Cancel button to stop the Saute function.
- Mix in the chicken broth, 4 slices of crumbled bacon, salt, and pepper.
- Fill the instant pot with sliced cabbage sections or shredded cabbage; you can add cabbage all the way up to the top of the pot. Be sure not to pack it in, but loosly adding the cabbage to the top of the pot is just fine.
- Put the lid on the pressure cooker and set the pot to Pressure Cook (or Manual) High for 4 minutes.
- Once the pot is done pressure cooking, let the instant pot cabbage natural release for 5 minutes before doing a quick release of the remaining pressure.
- Stir all ingredients together and serve.
- Add additional bacon as a garnish, if desired. Season to taste.
