1/2 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups light brown sugar, packed, divided into 1 cup and 1/2 cup
1 cup flour
1 tablespoon flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 tablespoon Irish Mist liqueur
1 cup chopped nuts

Steps:

  • in large mixing bowl combine butter, 1/2 cup brown sugar and flour; blend until crumbly.
  • firmly press crumb mixture into a 9 inch square baking pan.
  • bake at 350 for 10 minutes; set aside to cool.
  • in another bowl combine remaining sugar, 1 tbsp flour, and salt, blend well.
  • add eggs; 1 at a time beating well after each.
  • blend in liqueur.
  • mix in nuts.
  • spread evenly over cooled crust.
  • bake at 350 for 20 minutes.
  • cool in pan before cutting into bars.

3 ounces unsweetened chocolate
1/4 cup Irish Mist liqueur
1 tablespoon instant coffee
3/4 cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
3 egg yolks
1 1/4 cups heavy cream, reserve 1/4 cup for garnish

Steps:

  • Combine chocolate, Irish Mist and coffee in small saucepan. Cook gently over low heat until the chocolate melts. Add sugar and salt, stirring until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and COOL.
  • Beat egg yolks, add cooled chocolate mixture and stir over LOW heat until smooth.
  • Whip cream until stiff. Reserve 1/4 cup for garnish. Fold the remaining cream into the chocolate mixture. Spoon into six Irish coffee glasses and chill. Garnish with remaining whipped cream and serve. Serves 6.

  • Melt 1/2 cup butter and 2 squares chocolate in 2-quart saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly, 4-6 minutes or until smooth. Stir in all remaining brownie ingredients until well mixed. Spread into prepared pan.
  • Bake 25-30 minutes or until brownie just begins to pull away from sides of pan. Cool completely.
  • Combine all filling ingredients in bowl. Beat at medium speed until creamy. Spread over cooled bars. Drizzle with melted chocolate. Cool completely. Lift brownies out of pan, using foil ends; cut into bars. Store, covered, in refrigerator.
