IRISH FLAG SHOOTER

Irish Flag Shooter image

This Irish flag shooter recipe is made by layering shots of crème de menthe, Irish cream, and orange liqueur to resemble the flag of Ireland.

Provided by Colleen Graham

Categories     Cocktail

Time 3m

Number Of Ingredients 3

1/2 ounce green crème de menthe
1/2 ounce Irish cream liqueur
1/2 ounce orange liqueur (Grand Marnier)

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Pour the crème de menthe into a shot glass .
  • Float the Irish cream liqueur on top of the crème de menthe by pouring it slowly over the back of a bar spoon.
  • Float the Grand Marnier on top of the Irish cream liqueur, again using the back of a bar spoon.
  • Do not stir. Serve as is, making sure not to jostle the drink too much so the colors don't bleed into each other. Enjoy.

IRISH FLAG LAYERED SHOT

Irish Flag Layered Shot image

Pony glass is called for this layered shot. It is a small stemmed glass with a rounded bottom and fluted top, they hold about the same amount of liquid as a shot glass.

Provided by Rita1652

Categories     Beverages

Time 5m

Yield 1 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 3

3/4 ounce green creme de menthe
3/4 ounce irish cream
3/4 ounce brandy

Steps:

  • Layer in a pony glass or shot glass in the order given.
  • The secret is to pour slowly, barely dribble the liqueurs into your glass.
  • Start with your first liqueur and pour it into your glass, now take your spoon and place the tip of the spoon very close to your first liqueur, now carefully and slowly pour in your second liqueur over the back of the spoon and into the glass, then your third.

IRISH JELLO SHOTS RECIPE - (4.5/5)

Irish Jello Shots Recipe - (4.5/5) image

Provided by á-17891

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 small boxes lime Jell-o
2 small boxes orange Jell-o
1 can sweetened condensed milk
6 envelopes unflavored gelatin
4 3/4 cups boiling water - divided
1/4 cup cold water
Whipped topping, for garnish
Sprinkles, for garnish
36 plastic shot glasses, or any glass will work

Steps:

  • NOTE: This recipe makes enough to fill 36 shot glasses, you can divide the jello in half, but you will have leftover milk. You could also divide the can of milk in half, if you want the leftover milk. In a small bowl, combine lime jello, 2 envelopes gelatin and 2 cups boiling water, stir until jello is dissolved. Pour into glasses, filling about 1/3 full. Place in fridge until set, about 20 minutes In a small bowl combine sweetened condensed milk and 1 cup boiling water, stir well. In another small bowl, add cold water and sprinkle 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin, set aside for 1 minute. Add 3/4 cup boiling water and stir well. Add to milk mixture and stir. Pour on top of lime jello, filling another 1/3 amount. Place in fridge until set, about 20 minutes. In a small bowl, combine orange jello, 2 envelopes gelatin and 2 cups boiling water, stir until jello is dissolved. Pour into glasses, filling the remainder of the glass. Place in fridge until set, about 20 minutes Garnish with whipped topping and sprinkles. I used Cool Whip in a decorator bag and a giant round tip. NOTES You can easily change the flavor or color of the jello for a fun everyday treat

7 IRISH SHOT RECIPES FOR ST. PATRICK'S DAY - DELISHABLY

  • The Nutty Irishman. Legend has it, The Nutty Irishman was created in Dublin on St. Patrick's Day in 1983 and named after Finnegan O'Leary, who believed he was the reincarnation of St. Patrick.
  • Baby Guinness. Have you already had 10 pints of Guinness on St. Patrick's Day and don't know if you can finish another 16 ounces? Or Maybe you suffer from "Small Hand Syndrome" and have trouble holding a full pint glass.
  • The Dubliner. What's St. Patrick's Day without a little whiskey? Probably St. Boring's Day. OK, that's a stretch, but why even find out? Instead, try The Dubliner, a shot that combines Irish whiskey, Irish Mist and a little—ooh, la, la—whipped cream.
  • The Irish Slammer. You might know this drink by its more controversial name of "Irish Car Bomb" (in reference to extreme tactics used by the Provisional Republic Irish Army).
  • The Irish Cuddle. If the Irish Slammer scared you away, here is something a little more lovey-dovey. Next time your girlfriend or boyfriend says they want to cuddle, forget the hugging and snuggling and go straight for the liquor cabinet.
  • The Irish Flag. Bring a little patriotism and bartending razzle-dazzle to your St. Patrick's Day party with The Irish Flag shot. First presented to Thomas Francis Meagher (likely a historic Irishman) in 1848 by a group of French women, the real Irish flag is green, white, and orange and represents peace and Irish nationalism.
  • Irish Whiskey. Not feeling creative? Just want to get snackered? Not to worry. This Irish shot is simple and sure to do the trick. Heck, it's been doing the trick in Ireland for hundreds and hundreds of years, so if it ain't broke, don't fix it . . .
