4 Medium sized sweet onions
4 Bouillon cubes
2 Tbls Butter (Cut into 4 pieces)

Steps:

  • Peel the onions. Slice just enough off the root end that the onion doesn't tip. Scoop a hole about 1 inch deep into each onion. Place a bouillon cube and one piece of butter into the cavity of each onion, and wrap each one in foil.
  • Place the wrapped onions, on a trivet, into the Instant Pot. Add 2 cups of water, and then put the lid on your pot. Make sure the knob is set to sealing, and set the timer for 30 minutes.
  • When the pot has done it's magic, manually release the pressure and use tongs to take the onions out of the pot. Serve warm.

Number Of Ingredients 3

2 pounds yellow onions, sliced 1/2-inch-thick (8 cups)
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Add onions, butter, 2 teaspoons salt, and 1/2 teaspoon pepper to the bowl of a multicooker; stir to combine. Secure the lid and adjust vent to seal. Cook on high "Pressure Cook" setting for 5 minutes. Once cycle is complete, immediately release pressure. Carefully remove lid.
  • Strain onions and discard excess liquid. Return onions to multicooker. Cook over high "Saute" setting, stirring constantly, until onions are deeply golden and caramelized, 3 to 5 minutes. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

2 pounds white onions (peeled and sliced thin)
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon All Purpose Seasoning Blend
1 tablespoon brown sugar

Steps:

  • Add onions, butter and All Purpose Seasoning to Instant Pot and toss to combine.
  • Secure the lid and adjust the vent to seal.
  • Cook on high pressure for 5 minutes.
  • Immediately release the pressure and remove the lid.
  • Strain excess liquid from the onions.
  • Return the drained onions to the Instant Pot and set to Saute setting.
  • Stir in the brown sugar and saute for 3-5 minutes, or until onions become golden.
  • Serve immediately.
