Inside-Out Chocolate Chip Cookies image

Meet the new chocolate chipper on the block. The Inside-Out Chocolate Chip Cookie is buttery, sweet, intensely chocolatey and studded with white baking chips for a fun twist on the classic. And as much as we love all that flavor, the texture of this cookie might be its greatest asset. It's crispy on the outside and tender on the inside--a combination that we consider the ideal cookie texture. The secret to achieving it? Using two kinds of fat: butter and shortening. An all-butter cookie will brown nicely but tends to spread (sometimes, too much). Shortening curbs that tendency to spread, so you get the best of both worlds: a cookie that's perfectly caramelized and shaped just right (not too flat or too round). So next time you're out of semi-sweets, but still want a chocolate chip cookie, give your regular recipe a rest. We don't think you'll be disappointed with this inside-out version.

3/4 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup shortening
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
1/2 cup baking cocoa
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups white baking chips
1 cup chopped nuts

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F.
  • Mix sugars, butter, shortening, vanilla and eggs in large bowl. Stir in flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Stir in vanilla milk chips and nuts.
  • Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until set. Cool slightly; remove form cookie sheet. Cool on wire rack.

2 large cucumbers
16 cherry tomatoes
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup finely chopped sweet red pepper
2 tablespoons finely chopped celery
2 tablespoons finely chopped green onion
1 tablespoon finely chopped carrot
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Steps:

  • Peel strips from cucumbers to create decorative edges if desired; cut into 1/2-in. slices. Finely chop 2 slices; set aside. With a small spoon, scoop some of the seeds from the remaining slices., Cut a thin slice from the bottoms of tomatoes to allow them to rest flat. Cut a thin slice from tops of tomatoes; scoop out pulp, leaving a 1/4-in. shell. Invert onto paper towels to drain. , In a large bowl, combine the cream cheese, red pepper, celery, onion, carrot, seasonings and chopped cucumber., Fill tomatoes and cucumber slices with cream cheese mixture, about 1 teaspoon in each. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

1 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach
½ cup bread crumbs
2 eggs, beaten
¼ cup olive oil
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 pound lean ground beef
½ cup chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
1 (16 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce

Steps:

  • In a medium pot cook pasta in boiling salted water until al dente. Drain well.
  • Cook spinach according to package directions.
  • Meanwhile, brown ground beef, chopped onion, and minced garlic in a large skillet over medium heat. Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, and pasta sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Combine cooked spinach, cooked pasta, bread crumbs, shredded cheese, beaten eggs, and olive oil.
  • Spread spinach mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Top with meat mixture.
  • Bake in a preheated 350 degree F oven (175 degree C) for 30 minutes.

1 apple, diced large
2 stalks celery, diced medium
2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
1 teaspoon caraway seed
9 ounces crusty white bread, cut into 1-inch pieces (6 cups)
1 cup chicken broth
1 whole chicken (3 1/2 to 4 pounds), cut into 10 pieces
Salt and pepper
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees, with rack in upper third. On a rimmed baking sheet, toss together apple, celery, 1 tablespoon oil, and caraway seed. Add bread, arrange in an even layer, and bake 10 minutes.
  • Pour broth on top and stir until absorbed. Rub chicken with remaining tablespoon oil and add to sheet. Season stuffing and chicken with salt and pepper. Bake until stuffing is golden brown and chicken is cooked through, 25 to 30 minutes. Sprinkle with parsley to serve.

6 slices bacon, cut into bite size pieces
8 ounces cremini mushrooms, cleaned and sliced
2 pounds ground chuck
1 large shallot, diced
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon coarse salt
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
4 ounces Swiss cheese, cubed
4 sesame seed buns
2 tablespoons grapeseed oil

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F
  • Place the bacon in a large saute pan and cook until crispy, about 5 minutes. Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and reserve 1 tablespoon of the bacon fat in the pan. Add the mushrooms and cook until caramelized, about 5 minutes. Set the mushrooms aside to cool in a bowl.
  • In a large bowl, combine the beef, shallot, black pepper, salt, and Worcestershire. Separate the mixture into 4 equal portions. Divide each portion into 2 separate patties.
  • Combine the cheese into the cooled mushrooms and bacon mixture. Take 1 patty and top with 2-ounces of the filling. Place another patty on top and pinch around the edges to make sure that the filling is totally covered. Make the rest of the patties the same way.
  • Over medium-high heat, heat a large skillet with grapeseed oil. Once hot, add the burgers and cook for 2 minutes per side. Place the pan into the oven and cook for 4 to 6 more minutes for medium burgers.
  • Remove from the oven and serve on a sesame seed bun.

Steps:

  • Finely crush Oreos by placing them in a gallon size baggie and crushing with rolling pin. Put crushed Oreos in a large mixing bowl and mix together with softened cream cheese. Make into balls and chill in refrigerator or freezer. Melt almond bark over low heat and dip balls into almond bark. Place dipped Oreo balls on wax paper and allow to sit until almond bark hardens again.

1 tsp mustard
pinch hing
2 chilli (finely chopped)
2 clove garlic (finely chopped)
½ tsp ginger paste
¼ tsp turmeric
2 potato (boiled & mashed)

2 tsp lemon juice
2 tbsp coriander (finely chopped)
2 cup besan / gram flour
¼ cup rice flour
¼ tsp turmeric
½ tsp chilli powder
pinch hing
½ tsp salt
1 cup water
¼ tsp baking soda
pav
green chutney
garlic chutney
oil (for frying)

Steps:

  • firstly, in a large kadai heat 2 tsp oil. add 1 tsp mustard, pinch hing, 2 chilli, 2 clove garlic and ½ tsp ginger paste.
  • saute until the mustard splitters. you can also add curry leaves in tempering.
  • now add ¼ tsp turmeric and saute until the turmeric turns aromatic.
  • further add 2 potato, ½ tsp salt and mix well.
  • turn off the flame and add 2 tsp lemon juice and 2 tbsp coriander.
  • mix well and aloo stuffing is ready.
  • firstly, in a large bowl take 2 cup besan, ¼ cup rice flour, ¼ tsp turmeric, ½ tsp chilli powder, pinch hing and ½ tsp salt.
  • mix well making sure everything is well combined.
  • further, add water as required and prepare a smooth lump-free batter.
  • now add ¼ tsp baking soda and mix well. besan batter is ready.
  • firstly, slice the pav in half.
  • spread green chutney on one side and garlic chutney on the other.
  • also, place a ball sized aloo masala and press gently.
  • cover the pav and is ready to coat with besan batter.
  • now dip the pav in besan batter and deep fry in hot oil.
  • make sure to place on oil for 5-6 seconds and then flip over. this helps the top to fry a little and hold the batter.
  • fry on both sides until it turns golden brown and crisp.
  • now drain off over kitchen towel and cut it into half.
  • finally, enjoy ulta vada pav recipe with fried chilli and chutney.

  • This cookie dough requires at least 2 hours of chilling, but I prefer to chill the dough overnight. The colder the dough, the thicker the cookies.
  • In a large bowl using a hand-held or stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, beat the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together on medium high speed until fluffy and light in color. On high speed, beat in the egg and vanilla extract. Scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl as needed.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt together until combined. With the mixer running on low speed, slowly pour into the wet ingredients. Beat on low until combined. The cookie dough will be quite thick. Switch to high speed and beat in the milk, then the white chocolate chips. The cookie dough will be sticky. Cover dough tightly with aluminum foil or plastic wrap and chill for at least 3 hours and up to 3 days. Chilling is mandatory for this sticky cookie dough. I always chill mine overnight.
  • Remove cookie dough from the refrigerator and allow to sit at room temperature for 10 minutes. If the cookie dough chilled longer than 3 hours, let it sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes. This makes the chilled cookie dough easier to scoop and roll.
