Impossibly Easy Hot Dog and Cheese Pie image

Wrap up dinner wtih a one-dish hot dog bake - no buns needed.

1/2 lb hot dogs, cut into 1/4-inch pieces
1/4 cup chopped onion, if desired
1/2 cup Original Bisquick™ mix
1 cup milk
2 eggs
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese (4 oz)
Ketchup and mustard, if desired

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400°F. Spray 9-inch pie plate with cooking spray. Layer hot dog pieces and onion in pie plate.
  • In medium bowl, stir Bisquick mix, milk and eggs with wire whisk or fork until blended. Pour into pie plate. Sprinkle with cheese.
  • Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Serve with ketchup and mustard.

A quick dinner or lunch, great with a salad. Found this in a recipe box that I bought at a second hand store. I can imagine the memories inside of it.

1 lb ground beef
1 1/2 cups chopped onions
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (about 4 ounces)
1 1/2 cups milk
3/4 cup Bisquick baking mix
3 eggs

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • Lightly grease 10-inch pie plate.
  • Cook and stir beef and onion until brown; drain.
  • Stir in salt and pepper, spread beef in pie plate.
  • Sprinkle with cheese.
  • Beat remaining ingredients until smooth, 15 seconds in blender on high speed or 1 minute with hand beater.
  • Pour into pie plate.
  • Bake until golden brown and knife inserted in center comes out clean, about 30 minutes.
  • Let stand 5 minutes; garnish as desired.
  • Refrigerate remaining pie.
  • Note: If using 9-inch pie plate, decrease milk to 1 cup, baking mix to 1/2 cup and eggs to 2.

1/2 pound ground beef
4 hot dogs, cut in half lengthwise and sliced
1 can (16 ounces) baked beans
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons prepared mustard
2 ounces process cheese (Velveeta), cubed
1 unbaked deep-dish pastry shell (9 inches)
4 slices American cheese

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Add the hot dogs, beans, ketchup, brown sugar, mustard and cheese cubes. Cook and stir until cheese is melted., Meanwhile, prick pastry shell with a fork. Bake at 400° for 10 minutes. Fill with hot beef mixture. Cut each cheese slice into four strips; make a lattice topping over pie. Bake 5-10 minutes longer or until cheese is melted.

  • Heat oven to 400. Spray 9" glass pie plate w/ cooking spray. Layer hot dog pieces and onion in pie plate. Stir Bisquick mix, milk, & eggs in med. bowl w/ wire whisk or fork till blended. Pour into pie plate. Sprinkle w/ cheese. Bake 25-30 mins. or till knife inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand 5 mins. before serving. Serve w/ ketchup or mustard, if desired.
