BASIC ICED TEA WITH FLAVOR OPTIONS

We've adapted this very simple recipe from Cate O'Malley, who got it from Real Simple. It's a basic method with countless flavor options. And we have eight to share!

Number Of Ingredients 4

Ingredients

8 cups boiling water
8 black tea or green tea bags
Flavor booster (optional; see post above)
Ice, to serve (see post above)

Steps:

Pour the boiling water into a heat-resistant pitcher. Add the tea bags and let steep for 10 minutes.
Remove the bags, squeeze the liquid from them, and discard.
Let the tea cool to room temperature before refrigerating.
Add any of the flavor boosters, if desired.
Fill glasses with ice. Pour the cooled tea over ice to serve.

4 cups cold strong tea
1 cup orange juice
1/2 cup grapefruit juice
1/4-1/3 cup sugar
ice cube
1 strip orange rind (optional)
1 strip grapefruit peel (optional)

Steps:

In a 2-quart pitcher combine tea, orange juice, and grapefruit juice.
Stir in desired amount of sugar to taste.
To serve, pour over ice cubes in glasses.
If desired, tie a strip of orange peel and a strip of grapefruit peel into a knot and use as a garnish.
Serve at once.

Pour almond milk into an ice cube tray and freeze until solid. I recommend using a silicone mold if possible, as they’re easy to pop the cubes out of. I also try to keep a stash on hand in the freezer so the cubes are ready to go at all times.
To make the latte: Add the cup of almond milk into a blender along with 2 almond milk ice cubes, matcha powder, vanilla, maple syrup, and the optional frozen wheatgrass cube(s). Blend on high for around 20 seconds to ensure it gets nice and frothy.
Pour into a glass, along with more almond milk ice cubes. You can also add a spoonful of coconut whipped cream and a sprinkle of Matcha on top to make it ultra fancy-pants!
