An easy iced-coffee recipe prepared with espresso and milk. This rich and creamy homemade coffee frappe is incredibly delicious!

1/2 cup prepared Instant Espresso, (completely cooled)
1 cup ice cubes
1/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons sugar, (or to taste)

Steps:

  • In your blender, combine ice, cold espresso, milk, and sugar.
  • Begin to blend on LOW, then slowly increase the speed.
  • Blend on HIGH for 30 seconds, or until smooth.
  • Divide between 2 glasses and serve immediately.

Iced Nutty Irishman Coffee Frappe (Non-Alcoholic and Diabetic) image

A non-alcohol and sugar-free variation on a classic coffee drink. Adapted from Torani website. Prep time does not include cooling time for coffee. I make extra morning coffee during the summer and keep it in the fridge for iced drinks. You can garnish this with whipped cream if desired, but that will change the sugars and calories.

1 1/2 tablespoons sugar-free irish cream syrup (Torani)
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar-free hazelnut syrup (Torani)
1 cup strong brewed coffee (refrigerated until cool)
1/4 cup nonfat milk
1 cup ice cube

Steps:

  • Place all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth. Pour into glass and enjoy. (may be poured over more ice if desired).

¼ cup 1% reduced fat milk
3 tablespoons Splenda® Granulated Sweetener

Dash of unsweetened cocoa powder or ground cinnamon, for garnish

Steps:

  • In a blender, combine coffee, milk, Splenda Sweetener, vanilla extract, and ice.
  • Process mixture until smooth, stopping occasionally to scrape down sides of blender.
  • Pour into a tall glass and sprinkle with cocoa or cinnamon, if desired.
  • Notes
  • Cooking Tip: To brew extra-strong coffee, use 4 to 6 tablespoons of coffee grounds to 1 cup of water, depending on your desired strength. Also store-bought or homemade cold-brewed coffee concentrate can be substituted for the strong brewed coffee.
  • Keep it Healthy: While 1 percent milk gives this drink a touch more of creaminess, fat-free milk can also be used with the same delicious results.
  • Tip: If you enjoy your coffee ultra-frothy, add a few more ice cubes to increase the froth experience.
