1 cup vodka
Salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup chopped onion
2 tablespoons minced garlic
Freshly ground black pepper
2 (1 1/2-pound) lobsters, cooked, meat removed from the shell, and cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces

Steps:

  • Heat a large saute pan over medium-high heat. When the pan is hot, add the olive oil. Add the onions and saute until translucent, about 4 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute. Season with freshly ground black pepper. Add the cooked lobster meat and saute quickly, just to heat up the meat.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and carefully add the vodka. Return the pan to the heat, ignite the alcohol, and cook until the alcohol burns off and the flames die out. Keep the pan moving throughout this process so nothing burns. Season with salt and serve.

¼ cup apple juice
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 medium ripe mango, peeled and sliced
2 medium ripe bananas, peeled and sliced
6 large strawberries, sliced crosswise
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ cup dark rum
1 ½ scoops vanilla ice cream

Steps:

  • Set a large pan on the stove over medium-high heat. Pour apple juice into the pan and add brown sugar; let it simmer until golden and bubbling, about 4 minutes.
  • Put mango, banana, and strawberry slices in the pan with cinnamon. Stir to cover fruit with the sauce and cook for 3 minutes.
  • Remove pan from the heat and add rum. Place back on the heat and use a long lighter to set it on fire. Once the flame has gone out, cook for 1 more minute.
  • Divide fruit evenly between 3 bowls and top each with 1/2 scoop ice cream.

2 large scoops vanilla ice cream, softened
1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
¼ cup white sugar
2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
2 fluid ounces vodka

Steps:

  • Stir together the vanilla ice cream and hot pepper sauce in a medium bowl. Place in the freezer until firm.
  • Melt butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Stir in the sugar until dissolved, then add the strawberries. Cook, stirring occasionally until the strawberries are hot. Pour the vodka over the berries, and carefully light with a match. Let the flames burn off, then remove the pan from the heat.
  • Scoop the hot ice cream into two bowls, then divide the strawberry vodka sauce between them. Serve immediately.
