I have enjoyed these cookies for a long time and misplaced the recipe. In going through my numerous cookbooks, I found it and wanted to share with everyone. The frosting calls for a chocolate butter cream frosting but I just make a powdered sugar frosting and add cocoa to it.

Number Of Ingredients 11

Ingredients

5 c flour
4 chocolate, unsweetened squares, melted and cooled
1 c butter flavored crisco
2 c brown sugar
1 c buttermilk
1 c chopped nuts
1 c raisins
1 Tbsp vanilla
4 eggs
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt

Steps:

1. Cream sugar, shortening, and vanilla. Add chocolate and eggs; beat well. Alternate flour with dry ingredients and buttermilk.
2. 400 degrees - 12 - 15 minutes; drop rounded tsp. onto greased cookie sheet. ENJOY!
