2 tablespoons white sugar
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
½ cup extra-virgin olive oil
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons sesame oil
1 clove garlic, smashed
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes

Steps:

  • Stir sugar and apple cider vinegar together in a small saucepan; cook over medium-low heat until sugar is dissolved, scraping sides of the pan to include all sugar granules, 3 to 5 minutes; remove from heat and let cool 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Combine vinegar mixture, olive oil, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes in a food processor; blend until the garlic and red pepper flakes are tiny, 1 to 2 minutes. Strain through a fine-mesh sieve.

2 tablespoons White vinegar
1 teaspoon Soy sauce
1/3 cup Sugar
1/2 teaspoon Dry mustard
1 l Kosher salt - to taste
2 tablespoons Yellow onion, finely diced
1/2 cup Olive oil blend
2-1/4 teaspoons Sesame seeds, toasted (2 and 1/4 tsp)

Steps:

  • In a blender, combine the vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, dry mustard, salt and onion. Blend very well until the mixture is smooth with no chunks of onion.
  • With the motor running, add the oil in a slow steady stream, and blend until emulsified.
  • Remove from the blender, and stir in the toasted sesame seeds. (store in the refrigerator)

1 and 1/2 c. sugar
2 t. dry mustard
2 t. salt
2/3 c. vinegar
2 t. soy sauce
3 T. onion juice or 1/2 c. chopped onion
2 c. salad oil
3 T. toasted sesame seeds

Steps:

  • In a food processor or blender combine sugar, mustard, salt, vinegar and soy sauce on medium speed for about 20 seconds or until completely blended. Add onion juice or onions. Blend until smooth. With the motor running on low speed add oil slowly in a thin, steady stream. Mix until thickened. Pour into a refrigerator container and stir in sesame seeds. Cap tightly and refrigerate to use within 1 month. (Makes about 1 quart). Sesame Salad Dressing like Hudson's recipe published in our August, 1989 Menu Minder.
