Hot Spiced Orange Drink Mix image

Christmas season is here, and I have been searching for mix recipes to jar as presents. Recipe from Mary Mae's Jars and Mixes. Serving is an estimate.

1 (10 ounce) jar Tang orange crystals
2 ounces lemonade mix (Country time)
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cloves

Steps:

  • Mix and store in a covered container.
  • Instructions for jar: To make into a drink mix 2-1/2 teaspoons and 1 cup boiling water.
  • Here is a recipe to give as gifts.
  • You can sew a bag or puttee mix in a canning jar.
  • If you sew a bag, put the mix in a plastic bag before putting it into the cloth bag.

Nothing is more soothing than a hot cup of spiced orange cider on a cold winter's night. I've enjoyed this recipe for years. Bring this mix to work, as it's a sure-fire drink your co-workers will L-O-V-E. It's also a cute, easy, inexpensive holiday gift that's fun for the kiddos (looks like sand art). Enjoy!

1 cup white sugar
1 cup orange flavored drink mix (such as Tang®)
½ cup instant tea powder
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground cloves

Steps:

  • Combine sugar, orange flavored drink mix, tea powder, cinnamon, and cloves in a large bowl. Store in a sealed container.
  • To serve, mix 2 to 3 tablespoons of the mixture with a cup of hot water.
