1 cup apricot preserves
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 teaspoons bottled minced garlic (or 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder, I use 2 cloves fresh minced)
1 -2 tablespoon bottled hot sauce
12 chicken drumsticks
hot cooked rice

Steps:

  • For sauce~ in a small saucepan, combine preserves, ketchup, soy sauce, garlic and hot pepper sauce.
  • Cook and stir over medium heat until preserves are melted.
  • Arrange drumsticks in a single layer in 13x9 baking pan.
  • Pour sauce over drumsticks, turning to coat.
  • Bake uncovered in a 350º oven for 40 to 45 minutes or until chicken is done, spooning sauce over drumsticks once during baking.
  • Serve drumsticks over rice.
  • If desired, spoon sauce from baking pan over chicken and rice.

This is a good recipe using your grill. Its really good. Needs to marinate for about an hour in the fridge.

1/2 cup apricot preserves or 1/2 cup orange marmalade
2 tablespoons rosemary, minced or 2 teaspoons dried rosemary
1/3 cup asian chili-garlic sauce
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
3 tablespoons brown sugar
3 lbs chicken drummettes
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

Steps:

  • In large bowl stir preserves, garlic sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, minced rosemary and mustard.
  • Add the drumettes and toss well to coat.
  • Cover and marinate in the fridge stirring occasionally for 1 hour.
  • Grill turning often basting and cooking a total of about 30 minutes.
  • Dont bast at the last 10 minutes of cooking.

We were on a camping trip, and a young bachelor brought these chicken legs for dinner. They were fabulous! I was so impressed, I asked him for the recipe.

2 cups sugar
1/4 cup paprika
2 tablespoons salt
2 teaspoons pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
20 chicken drumsticks (about 5 pounds)

Steps:

  • In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the sugar, paprika, salt, pepper, garlic powder, chili powder and cayenne. Add drumsticks, a few at a time; seal bag and shake to coat. , Place chicken in two greased 15x10x1-in. baking pans. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight. (A small amount of meat juices will form in the pan.) , Bake, uncovered, at 325° for 50-60 minutes or until chicken juices run clear and a thermometer reads 170°-175°.
