CLASSIC HOT WINGS

Canola oil, for frying
24 chicken wing parts (12 wings separated into 2 pieces)
One 12-ounce bottle cayenne hot pepper sauce, such as Frank's
1 stick butter
Several dashes Worcestershire sauce
Several dashes hot sauce, such as Tabasco
Blue cheese dip, for serving
Celery sticks, for serving

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Heat 3 inches of canola oil in a heavy pot to 375 degrees F.
  • Add half the chicken wing parts to the oil and fry them until they're golden brown and fully cooked, 5 to 7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels. Repeat with the other half of the wing parts. In a saucepan, heat the cayenne sauce and butter over medium-low heat. Add the Worcestershire and hot sauce. Let it bubble up, and then turn off the heat. Place the wings in an ovenproof dish and pour the hot sauce over the top. Toss to coat, and then bake in the oven for 15 minutes.
  • Serve with blue cheese dip, celery sticks... and your favorite cold, fizzy beverage.

5 tablespoons fat-free ranch salad dressing
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
¼ cup water, or as needed for consistency
6 tablespoons crumbled blue cheese
1 (7.2 ounce) package Original Snack Factory® Pretzel Crisps®
Assorted, fresh vegetable sticks cut up for dipping

Steps:

  • Combine beans, hot sauce, ranch dressing, garlic, and oil in a food processor. Pulse, adding water as necessary to improve consistency until desired consistency is reached, 8 to 10 pulses.
  • Top with crumbled blue cheese and a drizzle of more hot sauce. Serve with Snack Factory® Pretzel Crisps® and assorted vegetables for dipping.

1 (15 ounce) can garbanzo beans
1 (15 ounce) can great northern beans
½ cup Buffalo wing sauce (such as Frank's RedHot®), or to taste
1 (1 ounce) packet dry ranch dressing mix (such as Hidden Valley Ranch®)
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon tahini
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon olive oil, or as needed
salt and ground black pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Combine garbanzo beans and great northern beans in a large colander; rinse and allow to drain.
  • Place the beans, wing sauce, ranch dressing mix, lemon juice, tahini, and garlic in the bowl of a food processor; process until smooth, scraping down the sides as necessary. Add olive oil and blend until hummus has thinned to desired consistency. Season with salt and pepper.

1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

2 tablespoons barbecue sauce
2 to 3 tablespoons cayenne hot sauce
1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar
Kosher salt

Steps:

  • Put the chickpeas, chickpea liquid, garlic, tahini, lemon juice, paprika, barbecue sauce, hot sauce, vinegar and 1 1/2 teaspoons salt in a food processor. Puree until smooth and creamy.

These vegetarian and vegan buffalo tofu hot wings are deliciously addicting, packing in all the flavors of wings but without meat.

1 16-ounce block tofu, well-pressed
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. mustard powder
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 to 2 tbsp. oil for pan-frying
1/4 cup vegan margarine or vegan butter substitute
1/3 cup hot wing sauce, or any kind of hot sauce you like

Steps:

  • Once your tofu has been well-pressed, you can slice it into thin "finger" shapes, slabs, cubes, or whatever shape you like best.
  • In a shallow pan or a zip-closing plastic bag, combine the cornstarch, garlic salt, mustard powder and black pepper. Carefully add the tofu, gently tossing to make sure that all sides of the tofu are well coated with the cornstarch mixture.
  • Heat the oil in a sauté pan or skillet over medium heat, using a non-stick pan if you have it to reduce the amount of oil needed. Add tofu and pan-fry on all sides just until it is just lightly golden brown. Once the tofu has cooked, remove it from the pan and set it aside.
  • Using the same pan (or a different one, your choice), heat the vegan margarine or butter substitute over very low heat. Once it is melted, add in the wing sauce, stirring just until combined well. Add the cooked tofu, gently turning to coat well on all sides with the wing sauce mixture.
  • Once that is completely heated, you can take the tofu off of the stovetop heat and serve it while it is warm.
  • Serve with some vegan ranch dressing if you'd like.
