MULLED CRANBERRY CIDER
Mulled cranberry cider, like mulled wine, is a cold-weather tradition in my home. This warm, comforting drink is easy to prepare and is a great finale for a holiday meal. This recipe is for 2 quarts, which will serve up to 6 to 8 people; the amounts can be multiplied without any problems.

- Pour cranberry juice into a slow cooker; set on high. To the juice add the zest from the oranges, cloves, cranberries, vanilla extract, honey and cinnamon sticks. Heat, stirring occasionally, until hot and steamy, about 20 minutes.

- 1. In a 3 1/2 or 4 quart crock pot, combine the apple cider,, pineapple juice, undiluted orange juice concentrate, brown sugar, cinnamon sticks, and cloves. Mix well
- 2. Cover and cook on low setting 5 to 6 hours. Remove the cinnamon sticks and cloves. Serve hot in mugs or heatproof punch cups, garnished with orange or lemon slices.
- 3. Refrigerate any leftovers and reheat in a microwave or serve chilled.. I love the aroma this drink leaves the home smelling..mmmmm

- Combine liquid ingredients in a large stock pot. Stir in brown sugar, whole cloves and cinnamon sticks.
- Top with cut fruit, keeping the rinds and peels facing up towards the surface of the liquid.
- Heat on medium until boiling, and then reduce to simmer. Simmer for 1-2 hours.
- Remove fruit, cinnamon sticks and cloves. You can strain the wassail through a sieve if you prefer.

- Using an unfiltered coffee filter or piece of cheesecloth, place cinnamon sticks, allspice, cloves, and ginger. Tie off with butcher twine. Be sure to use cheesecloth if preparing in Instant Pot.
- Place juice/cider, pineapple juice, orange slices, cranberries, grated nutmeg, and mulling spices in the slow cooker.
- Cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours. Remove the bundle of spices and serve.
