4 cups sugar
3 cups cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 quart warm water
2 quarts boiling water
4 gallons warm milk

Steps:

Combine the sugar, cocoa powder, salt, and warm water in a large pan or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Mix until the sugar and cocoa have dissolved. Add the boiling water and let the cocoa cook at a low boil for 10 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the warm milk. Ladle the cocoa into mugs and serve immediately. The cocoa can be kept warm over low heat (do not let it boil once the milk has been added it or it may curdle).

Steps:

In a 5- or 6-qt. slow cooker, combine the milk powder, sugar, cocoa, vanilla and cinnamon; gradually whisk in water until smooth. Cover and cook on low 3-4 hours, until heated through., If desired, top with marshmallows and use peppermint sticks for stirrers.

12 cups milk
4 teaspoons vanilla extract
sweetened whipped cream, optional
additional cocoa (optional)

Steps:

Stir together sugar, cocoa and salt in a 4- to 6-quart saucepan.
Heat milk in microwave until hot, but not boiling; gradually add to cocoa mixture, stirring until well-blended.
Stir in vanilla.
Serve immediately or keep warm over very low heat for up to 2 hours.
At serving time, stir; pour into mugs.
Garnish with whipped cream; sift cocoa over whipped cream if desired.
