It's easy to make your own creamy hot chocolate mix, and this can be used in other recipes that call for hot chocolate mix. You just mix together cocoa, sugar, powdered creamer and powdered milk.

1 ½ cups white sugar
1 cup powdered non-dairy creamer
1 cup dry milk powder
¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

Steps:

  • In a blender or food processor, combine sugar, powdered creamer, milk powder and cocoa powder. Mix well, and store in an airtight container.
  • To serve, put 2 to 3 tablespoons of powder in a mug, fill with hot water, and stir.

1 package (25.6 ounces) nonfat dry milk powder
1 package (15 ounces) hot cocoa mix
4 cups confectioners' sugar
1 jar (6 ounces) powdered nondairy creamer

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the first four ingredients; mix well. Store in an airtight container. Yield: 17 cups., To prepare hot chocolate: Place 1/4 cup mix in a mug; stir in 3/4 cup boiling water until blended.

10 cups dry milk powder
4 ¾ cups sifted confectioners' sugar
1 ¾ cups unsweetened cocoa powder
1 ¾ cups powdered non-dairy creamer

Steps:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine milk powder, confectioner's sugar, cocoa powder, and creamer. Stir till thoroughly combined. Store cocoa mixture in an airtight container. Makes about 15 cups mix, or enough for about 45 servings.
  • For 1 serving, place 1/3 cup cocoa mixture in a coffee cup or mug, and add 3/4 cup boiling water. Stir to dissolve. Top with dollop of whipped cream or a few marshmallows, if desired.

3 1/2 cups sugar
2 1/4 cups cocoa
1 tablespoon table salt
Whole milk for serving

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine sugar, cocoa, and salt, and whisk to combine well. Store the mixture in an airtight container.
  • For individual servings, pour 1 cup whole milk into a microwave-safe mug, and microwave on high just until hot. Add 2 tablespoons of cocoa mix, and stir to dissolve. For a larger batch of cocoa, warm the milk in a saucepan set over medium-low heat, taking care not to let the milk boil; as it warms, stir in 2 tablespoons of mix for each cup of milk.
