SWEET AND SPICY BBQ SMOKED PECANS
Smoked nuts can be made in your pellet smoker, grill or electric smoker for an epic sweet and spicy batch of smoked nuts that is epic on it's own or perfect added to salads, side dishes and even ice cream! These are great for gifting at the holidays!

Steps:
- Soak nuts in water for 10 minutes, then remove and lightly pat dry (getting the nuts wet helps the smoke adhere to their surface).
- Combine the rub ingredients in a large bowl.
- Toss the nuts in the rub so that all the nuts are covered in seasoning.
- Place the nuts on a frog mat and smoke for 45 minutes at 250 degrees for an hour until the nuts have begun to lightly brown.

- In a small bowl, combine the salt and spices; set aside. In a large heavy skillet, melt butter. Add walnuts and pecans; cook over medium heat until nuts are toasted, about 4 minutes., Sprinkle with spice mixture. Add the brown sugar, water, Worcestershire and hot sauce. Cook and stir for 1-2 minutes or until sugar is melted. Spread on foil to cool. Store in an airtight container.

- Preheat the smoker to 350 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Pour all the ingredients into a large mixing bowl and stir until well incorporated.
- Place the baking sheet with the nuts onto the smoker and smoke them for around 15 minutes, stirring half way through. Once you start to see them change color or brown or the sugar starts to caramelize, it is time to take them off.
- Allow the nuts to cool for around 15 minutes before serving. These nuts can be stored in the fridge for up to a month for easy snacking.
