HAWAIIAN HIBACHI STEAK
Steak, marinated with kiwi, lime and pineapple, grilled, sliced and served over Recipe #290685 with a Recipe #290686. This meal is for a large gathering. This was a 3 part recipe, but thought I'd post it as 3 because they all can be made separately. From the Beef site

Steps:
- Marinate:.
- Combine all ingredients except beef steaks in non-reactive container and mix.
- Add beef; turn to coat.
- Cover and refrigerate 20 minutes to 2 hours.
- Turn steaks once during marination.
- Meanwhile make the Shiitake-And-Sweet Pepper Fried Rice (Recipe # 290685) and Pineapple-Plum Chutney (Recipe # 290686) .
- For each serving:.
- Grill 1 beef steak to medium rare to medium doneness.
- Carve steak into ½-inch-thick slices.
- Heat 2 cups Fried Rice(Recipe # 290685) in saute pan.
- Mound rice in center of plate and arrange beef slices around rice.
- Garnish rice with ¼ cup cilantro.
- Spoon 2 ½ tablespoons Pineapple-Plum Chutney (Recipe # 290686) over beef.
- Garnish beef with 1 teaspoon green onions, ½ teaspoon sesame seed and 2 kiwi slices.

Watermelon or apple can be used instead of mango; experiment with the recipe and create your own tradition." -- I have reduced the recipe by half, to make a smaller quantity; you may double, as needed. **I believe it would be even more fabulous with some rum; pineapple, mango, coconut...use your imagination! Steps:
- Peel and chop mangos into small chunks.
- In a large container or bowl add mangos, heavy cream, pineapple juice, coconut cream, sugar and crushed ice.
- Mix with a large spoon to blend ingredients and dissolve sugar.
- Refrigerate or serve immediately.
- *Drink must be stirred before serving if it is held in the refrigerator.
KIWI MARGARITA
A yummy combination that one Zaar reader had down at The Epcot Center in Florida. We have also made these with strawberry kiwi, kiwi mango and guava, as well as other mixed fruit combinations. I like less alcoholic tasting drinks, so I adjust accordingly.

- On top of the ingredients, pour crushed ice until the blender is full.
- Blend, but don't liquify.
- Pour into margarita glasses and garnish with lime wedge.

- Grind raw, unwashed rice in a blender on high speed to a fine powder. Transfer to a medium bowl and whisk in 4 cups water, vanilla bean and cinnamon stick. Cover and let sit at room temperature for 8 hours and up to 24.
- Vigorously whisk rice mixture until rice is evenly distributed and strain through a fine mesh sieve into a 13" x 9" baking dish, pressing on solids to extract as much liquid as possible (you should have about 2 ½ cups). Reserve solids for another use (like cream-of-rice porridge). Whisk milk, sugar and ¼ teaspoon salt into rice milk until completely dissolved.
- Freeze rice mixture until edges begin to set, 30-35 minutes. Using a fork, scrape to break up frozen portions. Freeze, scraping and breaking up every 20-30 minutes, until mixture resembles fluffy shaved ice, 2-4 hours.
- Meanwhile, toss mango, kiwi, pineapple, pinch salt and remaining 1 tablespoon sugar in a medium bowl. Cover and chill until ready to serve.
- To serve, divide granita among bowls; top with fruit and sesame seeds.
- Do Ahead: Granita can be made 1 week ahead. Cover and keep frozen. Scrape to fluff just before serving.

- For the Horchata In a 2 quart saucepot over medium high heat combine 3 cups of water, cinnamon stick, cloves and vanilla. Cover and bring to a boil reduce heat to low or cook about 10 minutes.
- Stir in sweetened condensed and evaporated milk and cook 5 minutes then remove from heat. Stir in sugar.
- Stir flour and water mixture into the milks mixture and let it sit for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator. Using cheese cloth or fine sieve, strain the liquid into a pitcher or other container.
