Honey Garlic Butter Scallops get pan seared and then coated in the most amazing honey garlic butter sauce. This meal is so quick and easy that you will make it again and again!

½ cup honey
¼ cup soy sauce
3 cloves garlic (minced)
juice of one small lemon
1 Pound Large Scallops
2 Tablespoons butter
green onions (for garnish)

Steps:

  • In a small bowl whisk honey, soy sauce, garlic and lemon. Add half of the sauce to the scallops and let marinate for 30 minutes.
  • In a medium sized skillet at the butter. Add the scallops and discard marinade. Season with salt and pepper. Turn the heat to medium high. Sear scallops for 3- 3½ minutes on each side until they are golden brown on each side. Add the reserved marinade to the skillet. Cook until the sauce starts to thicken and add scallops back in to coat. Garnish with green onions.

Sweet and just a little spicy, these Honey-Glazed Scallops are ready in less than 15 minutes! I love serving them with brown rice and broccoli.

2 and 1/2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
1 and 1/2 teaspoons sriracha sauce
3 tablespoon honey
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 and 1/2 pounds large sea scallops, muscles removed
2 tablespoons unsalted butter (or ghee), divided
Chopped scallions and cilantro, for garnish, optional

Steps:

  • In a small mixing bowl combine the low-sodium soy sauce, sriracha, honey, Dijon mustard, and vinegar; mix well to combine then set aside.
  • Vigorously pat scallops dry using a double layer of paper towels; set aside. Heat 1 tablespoon of butter (or ghee) in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook scallops, in a single layer, until golden brown and just cooked through, about 2 minutes per side. Cook scallops in batches, if needed, adding the remaining butter or ghee when the pan begins to look dry. Transfer cooked scallops to a large plate and set aside.
  • Using the same skillet you cooked the scallops in, reduce the heat to medium-low and carefully add in the honey mixture. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes, or until it's reduced to a glaze. Quickly return scallops to skillet and toss well to coat. Sprinkle with cilantro and scallions, if desired, and serve at once. I love serving these scallops with brown rice and broccoli!

Sea scallops are amazingly tender, succulent, and mildly flavored, but when you style them up with a flavorful balsamic glaze, they can be a showstopper. They're sophisticated enough for dinner guests, but easy enough for a weeknight dinner.

12 large sea scallops
¼ teaspoon seafood seasoning (such as Old Bay®)
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 tablespoon canola oil
½ cup dry white wine
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon chopped fresh tarragon

Steps:

  • Pat scallops thoroughly with a paper towel to remove excess moisture and ensure a good sear. Combine seafood seasoning, salt, and pepper and use to lightly season both sides of the scallops.
  • Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add scallops to the skillet, being careful not to crowd. Cook until golden brown and a crust starts to form, about 3 minutes per side. Cook in batches if necessary to avoid steaming the scallops and be careful not to overcook. Remove from the skillet and cover to keep warm.
  • Add white wine, balsamic vinegar, and Dijon mustard to the skillet and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly to scrape up the browned bits from the bottom. Cook until glaze is slightly thick and syrupy, 3 to 4 minutes.

1 cup plain breadcrumbs, can use cracker crumbs
1/4 cup butter
3 tablespoons honey
1/4 cup vegetable oil

Steps:

  • Cut scallops in half or into quarters, depending on their size.
  • Dry well with paper towels.
  • Melt the butter with the honey and set aside.
  • Roll the scallops in the bread or cracker crumbs and divide them equally into 4-6 individual greased ramekins or small baking dishes.

1 pound large sea scallops (16 scallops)
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh thyme
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
8 paper-thin slices prosciutto
FOR THE GLAZE:
3 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
2 large Golden Delicious apples

Steps:

  • Wash the scallops and remove the small, tough side muscle (see REFERANCE & APPENDIX, _Sage Advice About Grilling Scallops). Place the scallops in a medium bowl. Add the olive oil, thyme, salt, and pepper. Stir to coat. Cut each prosciutto slice lengthwise into two equal-sized strips and wrap a strip around each scallop. Thread the scallops through their sides onto skewers, four scallops per skewer. Place the skewers on a plate. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour. MEANWHILE, MAKE THE GLAZE: In a small bowl whisk together the glaze ingredients. Peel and core the apples, then cut crosswise into 1/2-inch-thick rings. Grill the apple rings over Direct Medium heat until golden and tender, 4 to 6 minutes, turning once halfway through grilling time. Brush both sides of the apple rings with the glaze and grill for 2 minutes more, turning once halfway through grilling time. Grill the scallops over Direct Medium heat until just opaque in the center, 4 to 6 minutes, turning once half way through grilling time.
