1/3 cup barbecue sauce
2 tablespoons honey

1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 boxes (10 oz each) frozen honey glazed carrots, thawed

Steps:

  • Spray 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Place pork in slow cooker. In small bowl, mix remaining ingredients except carrots; pour over pork.
  • Cover; cook on Low heat setting 6 to 7 hours.
  • Place carrots around pork. Increase heat setting to High. Cover; cook about 30 minutes longer or until carrots are crisp-tender.
  • Remove pork from slow cooker to cutting board; cut into slices. Place pork on serving platter; top with sauce and carrots.

2.5 pounds pork loin
1 Tablespoon Olive oil
Salt and Pepper
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
Juice of one lime
2 garlic cloves (minced)
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger or 1 Tablespoon fresh ginger
2 Tablespoons cornstarch
Optional garnish: Fresh lime wedges (chopped cilantro)

Steps:

  • In a large skillet heat the oil over medium high heat. Salt and pepper the pork and lay in in the hot oil. Let the pork sear until the outside edge starts to blacken. Place the pork into the bottom of a slow cooker.
  • In a small bowl whisk together the honey, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, juice of one lime, garlic cloves, and ginger. Pour the marinade over the pork. Let cook 6-8 hours on low and 4-6 hours on high or until thermometer reads 160 degrees.
  • Once the pork is finished lay onto a platter and pour the juices in a medium saucepan. Cook the marinade over medium high heat and whisk in the cornstarch. Cook for a few minutes until it starts to thicken. Pour over the pork. Garnish with optional lime wedges and fresh chopped cilantro.

1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon chili powder
2 ½ lb rack of pork ribs, halved
1 cup honey
½ cup soy sauce
10 garlic cloves, minced

Steps:

  • In a small bowl, mix together the salt, pepper, paprika, and chili powder. Season the ribs evenly with the mixture, making sure to rub it in on all sides.
  • Add the honey, soy sauce, and garlic to a large slow cooker. Transfer the ribs to slow cooker and turn them over in the sauce until coated. Position the ribs so they are standing up, with the meatier side down, and so the meat is against the walls of the slow cooker, with the bone sides facing in. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours, or low for 7-8 hours. Check after the allotted time to make sure the meat is cooked through and tender.
  • Remove the ribs and transfer to cutting board. Cut between the bones to separate into individual ribs. Serve with additional sauce from the slow cooker, as needed

1/2 cup ketchup
1/3 cup low sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons chopped parsley

Steps:

  • Heat the oil in a pan over high heat. Season the pork chops generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  • Cook the pork for 4-5 minutes on each side until deep golden brown.
  • Add the pork chops to the slow cooker.
  • NOTE: you can skip the browning process if you prefer and simply season the pork chops with salt and pepper then add them to the slow cooker.

1 (3 pound) pork loin roast
salt and ground black pepper to taste
20 cloves garlic, peeled
1 cup diced onion
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup chicken broth
¼ cup fresh lemon juice

¼ cup honey

Steps:

  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season pork with salt and pepper. Place pork in the hot skillet and sear until brown on all sides, about 3 to 4 minutes per side. Transfer pork to a 6-quart slow cooker.

3 to 4 pounds boneless pork sirloin roast or pork shoulder
1 teaspoon salt (I use coarse, kosher salt)
1/2 teaspoon black pepper (I use coarsely ground)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons liquid smoke
1 to 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
3/4 cup balsamic vinegar
3/4 cup BBQ sauce (see note)
1/3 cup honey
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Season the pork roast evenly with salt, pepper and garlic powder (about a teaspoon of each).
  • Instant Pot Directions: cut the roast in half and place in the Instant Pot. Pour in the liquid smoke and broth. Secure the lid and cook at high pressure for 60 minutes. Let the pressure naturally release for 10 minutes before quick releasing the rest of the pressure.
  • Slow Cooker Directions: place the seasoned pork roast in a 5- or 6-quart slow cooker and pour in the liquid smoke and 2 cups broth. Cook on low for 8-9 hours.
  • For the BBQ sauce, combine all the ingredients in a medium saucepan and heat, stirring often, until simmering. Simmer for 15-20 minutes until slightly reduced and thickened. Season to taste with salt and pepper, if needed. The sauce can be made a week in advance and refrigerated. If refrigerated, heat before tossing with the pork.
  • Shred the pork (I suggest draining some of the excess cooking liquid) and toss with the BBQ sauce. Serve on buns (shredded cabbage/coleslaw optional but delish). The pork (once tossed with the sauce) can be kept warm in the slow cooker or Instant Pot for several hours before serving.
