THE BEST SANGRIA
The longer sangria sits before drinking, the more smooth and mellow it will taste. A full day is best, but if that's impossible, give it an absolute minimum of two hours to sit. Use large, heavy, juicy oranges and lemons for the best flavor. Doubling or tripling the recipe is fine, but you'll have to switch to a large punch bowl in place of the pitcher. - Before serving, add 6 to 8 ice cubes and stir briskly to distribute settled fruit and pulp; serve immediately.

Steps:
- Add the tomato juice, grapefruit juice, orange juice, lime juice, Tabasco, black pepper, salt and jalapeño pepper into a pitcher and stir until the salt dissolves.
- Let stand for 15 to 30 minutes, then remove and discard the jalapeño. (The longer the jalapeño infuses, the spicier the Sangrita will be.)
- Serve as an accompaniment to a shot of tequila.
- Store any remaining Sangrita in the refrigerator.

Another great recipe from Rick Bayless. Traditionally, it is served in a shot glass accompanied by a shot of good tequila. Alternate sips of each so you savor each flavor. Mixing it with the tequila is a different animal - actually, it's called a Vampiro. (vampire)

- Add the prepared seasonal fruit and lemon. Add the brandy and 1 tablespoon of the maple syrup. Pour the wine into the pitcher and stir to combine. Taste, and add another tablespoon of maple syrup if it’s not sweet enough for your liking.
- You can serve this sangria immediately, or let it marinate for 2 to 8 hours for more fruity flavor. Serve in wine glasses with a few ice cubes to keep it chilled. Enjoy!
