HOMEMADE ROOT BEER

Homemade Root Beer image

This Root beer is bound to be a hit at any gathering. It is very easy, ice cold and yummy. Use a large insulated drink cooler to brew it in, and everyone can help themselves using the spigot. This is best to do outdoors or place the cooler in the kitchen sink as it brews. Dry ice can be dangerous. Be sure to use gloves when handling. Do not allow children to handle the dry ice.

ROOT BEER FLOAT COFFEE RECIPE

Root Beer Float Coffee Recipe image

During the hot summer months, it can be a lot of fun to find new beverages to keep us cool. A long-standing favorite is the root beer float, and it has gone unchanged for decades, just root beer, vanilla, and vanilla ice cream. However, we think we can surprise you by spicing up the old standard with coffee.

Provided by Ed Malaker

Categories     Dessert

Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 3

2 scoops Vanilla bean ice cream
1 scoop Coffee ice cream
¼ cup Root beer

Steps:

  • Gather your ingredients.
  • For each member of your family, place a tall glass in the freezer and let it chill for at least five minutes while you are getting your ingredients together.
  • To begin creating your coffee root beer float, place one scoop of ice cream into each glass and pour half of the root beer on top.
  • Use a long but small spoon to mash the vanilla ice cream and root beer together until fairly smooth. The better it's blended, the better it will be.
  • Add one scoop of coffee ice cream, one scoop of vanilla ice cream, and the remaining root beer.
  • Serve.

  • In a large bowl, mix together all dry ingredients. Stir in remaining ingredients, but don’t over mix.
  • Heat a non-stick or greased griddle or pan over medium-high heat (I heat my griddle to about 350 degrees F). Scoop 1/4 cup of batter and pour onto hot griddle. Cook until multiple bubbles appear on your pancakes and edges begin to dry out a bit. Flip pancakes over to cook other side. Cook for about 1 minute or until golden brown. Remove from griddle or pan and serve with your choice of toppings.
  • In a large saucepan, place butter, sugar, melted vanilla ice cream, and corn syrup. Turn heat on low-medium and stir to combine ingredients. Continue stirring until butter is melted and ingredients are combined. Bring to low boil and cook for about 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently.

CLASSIC ROOT BEER FLOAT RECIPE - THE SPRUCE EATS
2020-12-15 For a root beer float, you'll need a straw and a long spoon. A regular spoon works, but a long one (like an iced tea spoon) makes it a little easier to enjoy every bite of ice cream all the way to the bottom of the glass--that is, whatever doesn't melt into the root beer itself and get slurped up in the straw.

ROOT BEER FLOAT TRUFFLES RECIPE - FOOD FANATIC
2013-10-20 Root beer floats seem to be such a personal thing. I prefer my root beer float to have the glass PACKED full of ice cream. Then I pour on my root beer, and eat the ice cream, saving all the root beer to be slurped in the end. My husband on the other hand tends to drink his root beer, scoop in maybe one scoop of ice cream, then drink more root beer.
