Yield 1/3 cup.

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 tablespoons mustard seed
1 tablespoon whole allspice
2 teaspoons coriander seeds
2 whole cloves
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 bay leaf, crumbled
1 cinnamon stick (2 inches)

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients and store in an airtight jar or container. Use in favorite pickle recipes.

2 to 3 cinnamon sticks crushed (about 4 1/2 teaspoons)
4 bay leaves crushed (about 1 1/2 teaspoons)
3 cardamom pods whole crushed
3 1/2 tsps allspice whole
3 1/2 tsps mustard seed
3 1/2 tsps organic coriander seed
1/2 tsp cloves whole
1/4 tsp ginger ground
1/4 tsp black peppercorns whole
1/8 tsp red pepper crushed

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients in a small bowl until well blended. Store in an airtight jar in a cool dry place. (Makes about 1/3 cup.)
  • Test Kitchen Tip: For best results, use 2 tablespoons Pickling Spice per 2 quarts of water.
