OATMEAL WITH FLAXSEED
This Oatmeal with Flaxseed recipe is a healthy high fiber breakfast idea loaded with whole grains, nuts, and fruit. A filling and satisfying morning meal made with ground flax and quick oats, or your favorite instant oatmeal. This flax oatmeal recipe is easily gluten free, vegan, or dairy free! Enjoy a cozy bowl for breakfast along side an apple cider vinegar green smoothie, fresh pomegranate fruit salad, or with a tall glass of chocolate oat milk!

Steps:
- Fill a pot with water (or almond milk, if using), and bring to a boil.
- In a bowl, add the instant oatmeal, flaxseeds, and cinnamon. Add the water/milk and mix well to combine. Allow to sit for 3-4 minutes to thicken..
- Add walnuts to the oatmeal, and sprinkle on extra flaxseeds or cinnamon as desired. Add sliced fruit or berries to top.

- To make a jar, just combine 1/2 cup rolled oats, 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed, 2/3 cup milk, 1/3 cup plain yogurt, 2 teaspoons brown sugar or maple syrup and a pinch each of salt and cinnamon in a small jar. Add your mix-ins (see below for some of our favorites), seal the jar and refrigerate overnight. In the morning, just open the jar, stir and add toppings.
- Mix-ins: 1/2 teaspoon orange zest and 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
- Toppings: chopped mango and pomegranate seeds
- Mix-ins: 1 tablespoon sweetened cocoa powder and 1/4 cup chopped hazelnuts
- Toppings: chopped hazelnuts and chocolate
- Mix-ins: 1/4 cup freeze-dried strawberries (crushed) and 1/2 chopped banana
- Toppings: sliced strawberries
STEEL CUT OATS WITH GROUND FLAX SEED
My everyday recipe for oats that makes four days worth of breakfast! Not to sweet but an excellent preworkout fuel! Reheats perfectly in the microwave oven.

Steps:
- Combine water, fat free milk, brown sugar, and salt in sauce pan.
- Heat over medium it to the stage just before a boil, stirring regularly (5 to 7 minutes).
- Add oats stir, cover and reduce heat to low.
- Give it a stir every 5 minuets or so until the liquid is absorbed, about 20 to 25 minutes.
- Slowly add the ground flax stirring constantly to avoid clumps.
- Let sit covered for 5 minutes, then serve.
