Love hemp seeds? Nutty chocolate spread? You will LOVE this chocolate hemp seed butter! Packed with all the goodness of hemp seeds (a.k.a. hemp hearts) like protein and a prime balance of omega 3 and omega 6, this butter is delicious as a spread on waffles and a dip for fruit - and so much more!

Ingredients

1 cup hemp seeds (hulled)
1/4 cup cashew milk (unsweetened )
1 tablespoon cacao, powder
1 teaspoon cacao, powder (additional to above)
1 1/2 tablespoons pure maple syrup

Steps:

Blend together all ingredients until the hemp seed butter is smooth. You may have to scrape down the sides of the blender a couple of times to get everything incorporated.
Store in the fridge.

Blend the hemp seeds in a high-speed processor/blender. It's best to do so at intervals so the seeds (and machine) don't overheat. For a smooth hemp seed butter, blend for about 5-6 minutes, with breaks every 2-3 minutes.
Once the homemade hemp seed butter is ready, transfer it to an airtight glass container and keep this in the fridge for 1 month. It can also be frozen, for longer.
