HEATH COOKIE BARS
These rich Heath cookie bars are frosted with chocolate and studded with crunchy Heath bar toffee bits inside and out!

- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9 x 13-inch baking dish with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat together the softened butter, brown sugar, vanilla and egg yolks on low speed until smooth.
- Add the flour, salt and 1 cup Heath toffee bits and stir until just combined. The mixture will be thick and crumbly.
- Empty mixture into the prepared baking dish and press it out evenly using wet fingers. Bake for 25 minutes, until golden.
- Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the top. Let sit for 5 minutes, then spread evenly using an offset spatula. Sprinkle with the remaining Heath toffee bits.
- Cool completely then refrigerate for 20 minutes to allow the chocolate to set up. Lift from the pan using the parchment paper onto a cutting board, then cut into squares and serve.

This was my favorite treat as a kid, and now my family enjoys it. It's a great dessert for Sunday with the family.

Steps:
- Prepare brownies according to the package directions, and let cool. Crumble the surface of the brownies with a fork.
- Prepare the chocolate pudding mix according to the package directions, and immediately pour over the brownies. Allow the pudding to set.
- Using the handle of a wooden spoon or table knife, crush the toffee bars, still in their wrappers, and sprinkle 7 crushed toffee bars over the pudding.
- Spread the whipped topping over the crushed toffee bars with a spatula, and sprinkle 1 crushed toffee bar over the top for decoration.

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter and flour a 9-by-13-inch baking pan.
- Stir butter and chocolate in a heavy small saucepan over low heat until melted and smooth. Cool to lukewarm.
- Whisk flour, salt and baking soda in a bowl to blend.
- Using electric mixer, beat sugar, eggs and vanilla in a large bowl until thick and billowy, about 3 minutes. Beat in chocolate mixture, then flour miture. Fold in pecans. Transfer to pan.
- Bake until puffed and a tester inserted into center comes out with a few moist crumbs attached, about 28 minutes.
- Sprinkle brownies with chopped toffee bars. Cool in pan on rack. (Can be made 1 day ahead. Cover; store at room temperature.) Cut into squares.

- Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter and flour 13x9x2-inch metal baking pan. Stir butter and chocolate in heavy small saucepan over low heat until melted and smooth. Cool to lukewarm.
- Whisk flour, salt, and baking soda in small bowl to blend. Using electric mixer, beat sugar, eggs, and vanilla in large bowl until thick and billowy, about 3 minutes. Beat in chocolate mixture, then flour mixture. Fold in walnuts. Transfer to pan.
