HAZELNUT BROWNIES



Hazelnut Brownies image

I created these deep chocolate brownies by combining several recipes. After they cooled, I divided them up and put them in the freezer or we would have eaten the entire pan! They're now a family favorite.

1 cup butter, melted
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4 large eggs
1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup baking cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped hazelnuts
FROSTING:
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup heavy whipping cream or refrigerated hazelnut nondairy creamer
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup coarsely chopped hazelnuts

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, beat the butter, sugar and vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt; gradually add to butter mixture. Fold in hazelnuts. , Spread into a greased 13x9-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean (do not overbake). Cool on a wire rack., For frosting, in a microwave-safe bowl, heat chips and cream until chips are melted; stir until smooth. Stir in butter until melted. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes or until frosting achieves spreading consistency, stirring several times. Frost brownies. Sprinkle with hazelnuts.

½ cup Crisco® Pure Vegetable Oil
¼ cup water
2 large eggs
⅔ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (14 ounce) can Eagle Brand® Sweetened Condensed Milk
⅔ cup Jif® Mocha Cappuccino Flavored Hazelnut Spread
¼ teaspoon salt
⅛ teaspoon almond extract
1 (2.25 ounce) package chopped hazelnuts

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Coat 15 x 10-inch baking pan with no-stick cooking spray.
  • Prepare brownie mix according to package directions using oil, water and eggs. Spread evenly in prepared pan. Bake 17 to 20 minutes or until set in center. Cool 15 minutes. Freeze 30 minutes to make cutting easier.
  • Microwave chocolate chips in medium microwave-safe bowl on high 45 seconds or until melted and smooth when stirred. Stir in sweetened condensed milk, hazelnut spread, salt and almond extract until smooth.
  • Trim edges of brownies. Cut into 70 (1 1/4-inch) squares. Arrange on serving platter. Place chocolate hazelnut mixture in decorating bag fitted with medium star tip. Pipe swirls on top of each brownie. Garnish each with 1 piece of chopped hazelnut, if desired.

1/2 cup coconut oil (or oil of choice)
4 oz. of gluten-free dairy-free chocolate chunks
1/2 cup coconut sugar (regular sugar works too)
2 teaspoons gluten-free vanilla extract
2 large eggs
3/4 cup hazelnut flour (or meal)
3/4 cup almond flour (or meal)
3/4 cup gluten-free dairy-free chocolate chunks

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350F. Grease an 8-inch metal baking pan; set aside.
  • In a large microwave safe bowl, heat oil and 4 oz. of chocolate chunks for 30 seconds at a time until melted (about 60 seconds total). You can also heat the oil and chocolate over a pan of boiling water to melt it.
  • Add sugar, vanilla extract, and eggs and mix until well incorporated.
  • Stir in the hazelnut and almond flours just until combined.
  • Add the remaining 3/4 cup of chocolate chunks and stir until combined.
  • Spoon the brownie batter into the pan and spread until even.
  • Bake for 32-34 minutes or until the center is set.
  • Remove from the oven and cool completely before cutting.
  • Store leftovers covered at room temperature for up to 4 days.

Chocolate hazelnut brownies are swirled with Nutella and they come together quickly without a mixer--just a spoon and a bowl. They're easy to make and sure to satisfy all your chocolate cravings!

1/2 cup unsalted butter (cut into several chunks)
3 ounces unsweetened chocolate (finely chopped)
2 large eggs
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup chopped toasted hazelnuts
1/2 cup Nutella

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray an 8-inch square baking dish with cooking spray and set aside.
  • Combine the chocolate and butter in medium a microwave-safe bowl and heat in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth.
  • Set aside to cool for 5 minutes.
  • Stir the eggs and sugar into the chocolate mixture, mixing well. Mix in the vanilla, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  • Fold in the flour, until just combined (just mix until you no longer see streaks of flour in the brownie batter).
  • Fold in the hazelnuts.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Dollop the Nutella over the brownie batter and use a butter knife to swirl the two together.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the top of the brownies looks set. Set pan on a wire rack and cool completely before slicing and serving.

1 stick butter, softened, plus extra for greasing
1 cup turbinado sugar
1/2 vanilla bean, split and seeds scraped
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
1/4 cup all-purpose flour, plus extra for dusting
1/4 cup cake flour
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup chopped hazelnuts
1 stick butter, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons grenadine

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Line an 8 by 8 inch baking pan with parchment paper. Lightly grease and flour.
  • In a standing mixer with the paddle attachment, cream together butter, sugar, vanilla seeds and vanilla extract. Add eggs and mix until well incorporated.
  • Mix together the dry ingredients and slowly add it to the egg mixture. Mix until well incorporated.
  • Pour the batter into prepared pan and spread evenly, add hazelnuts to the top.
  • Bake for 22 to 25 minutes until brownies are set and begin to pull away from the side.
  • Remove from oven and let cool on wire rack. Once cooled, remove brownies from pan and cut into 1 1/2-inch squares for individual bites.
  • In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to cream butter and slowly add the powdered sugar. Add grenadine and mix until a frosting consistency is reached. Place frosting in a piping bag and pipe onto individual brownie bites.

Once it seems like it solidified a little you can remove the brownies from the fridge, cut into squares, and enjoy! Store leftovers in the fridge.
