GRILLED HAWAIIAN CHICKEN

Grilled Hawaiian Chicken image

This is a family favorite! Every time I serve this chicken, I get rave reviews! I serve this over coconut rice garnished with green onions. It makes a beautiful presentation. To make coconut rice, simply replace half of the water with coconut milk and cook rice as directed. This recipe makes a lot of marinade. If I am serving more people I will increase the amount of chicken and keep the recipe for the marinade the same. Goes really well with steamed broccoli or edamame.

Chef John's Hawaiian-Style Ahi Poke image

The technique for making poke is so basic that even the most inexperienced cooks can get something close to what they'd get in a restaurant. But the one catch is you have to use only the freshest possible tuna, even if that means frozen.

THE PERFECT HAWAIIAN TERIYAKI-STYLE HULI HULI MARINADE …
2012-08-01 "Huli" means "turn" in Hawaiian, and legend has it that the name comes from the fact that its creator, Ernest Morgado, made it by cooking the soy-marinated chicken between two grills, turning the grills on their sides to do so. Luckily for those of us who like to keep things easy, the sauce is so tasty that it more than makes up for anything lacking in a regular single home grill.
