This recipe is sponsored by Cointreau. This bright, well-spiced adaptation of the Cosmopolitan plays with classic cider notes to create a cocktail that is refreshing enough for the late-summer heat, but nods to beloved fall tastes. The unique and balanced flavors of Cointreau elevate the mix of apple cider, cranberry juice, vodka and lemon. A cinnamon-sugar rim conjures the essence of a spiced orange-apple cider, ideal for thinking ahead to sweater weather.

1 ounce Cointreau
1/4 cup coarse sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 lemon wedge plus 1 ounce fresh lemon juice
2 ounces vodka
1 ounce apple cider
1 ounce cranberry juice cocktail

Steps:

  • Combine the coarse sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl. Rub the rim of a cocktail glass with the lemon wedge, then dip the rim in the cinnamon sugar.
  • Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add the Cointreau, vodka, apple cider, cranberry juice cocktail and lemon juice and shake well. Strain into the prepared cocktail glass.
