This casserole is perfect comfort food for the day after a holiday when you have leftover ham but don't feel like cooking! This is great served with broccoli, asparagus or a salad!

2 ½ cups uncooked egg noodles
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
½ cup white wine
¼ cup water
2 cups chopped cooked ham
½ cup shredded Swiss cheese
1 cup seasoned stuffing mix (coarse-crumb style)

Steps:

  • Preheat an oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Fill a large pot with lightly salted water and bring to a rolling boil over high heat. Once the water is boiling, stir in the egg noodles, and return to a boil. Cook the pasta uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the pasta has cooked through, but is still firm to the bite, about 5 minutes. Drain well in a colander set in the sink.
  • Combine the cream of mushroom soup, white wine, and water in a large bowl. Stir in the cooked egg noodles, ham, and Swiss cheese. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the dry stuffing mix over the dish. Bake uncovered until the casserole is bubbling and browned, about 30 minutes.

1 cup whipping cream
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2/3 cup uncooked quick-cooking corn grits
2 cups shredded Swiss cheese (8 oz)
4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
8 eggs
2 cups chopped extra-lean deli ham
6 green onions, chopped
2 cups milk
3 cups Original Bisquick™ mix

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Lightly spray 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray.
  • In medium saucepan, heat water, whipping cream, butter, salt and pepper to boiling. Gradually stir in grits; reduce heat. Cover; simmer 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add 1/2 cup of the cheese and the garlic, stirring until cheese is melted. Cool 10 to 15 minutes. Stir in 2 of the eggs; pour into baking dish. Bake 20 minutes; remove from oven. Increase oven temperature to 400°F.
  • Sprinkle remaining 1 1/2 cups cheese, the ham and onions over partially baked crust. In medium bowl, beat remaining 6 eggs and 1/2 cup of the milk with whisk; pour over ham mixture. Stir together remaining 1 1/2 cups milk and the Bisquick mix. Pour over egg mixture, spreading to edge of dish with back of spoon. Bake 35 minutes. Cool 10 minutes; cut into squares.

1 (1 pound) loaf sourdough bread, cut into cubes
1 (8 ounce) bottle honey mustard
2 cups shredded Swiss cheese, divided
2 cups diced ham, divided
1 (6 ounce) jar dill pickle relish, drained

Steps:

  • Spread the bread cubes into a shallow pan and let the bread sit until the cut surfaces are somewhat dried with the insides remaining soft, 2 to 3 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 2-quart baking dish.
  • Put bread cubes into a large bowl. Pour honey mustard over the bread and mix to coat. Layer about half the bread cubes into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle 2/3 cup Swiss cheese over the bread cubes; top with 1 cup ham. Spread relish in a layer over everything. Trying to use up Easter Ham I threw this together using what I had in the pantry and fridge! Amounts are approximate, feel free to add more or less of any ingredient! Edited to change the size bag of noodles. I think it was an 8 ounce bag not 16 ounce!

1 (8 ounce) package egg noodles
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup half-and-half
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup swiss cheese, grated
1 teaspoon dry mustard
salt and pepper, to taste
1 cup cooked ham, diced
1 cup frozen peas
0.5 (6 ounce) can French-fried onions

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • Prepare egg noodles in a large Dutch oven, boiling as described on package. Drain and return to the Dutch oven.
  • While the noodles are boiling, melt butter in skillet over medium to medium high heat. Stir in flour until thickened a bit. Slowly add half and half and chicken broth, stirring to prevent lumps. Cut heat up a bit if needed. Slowly add Swiss cheese, dry mustard and salt and pepper, stirring constantly.
  • When the sauce is medium thickness, cut heat down to low.
  • In the large Dutch oven containing the drained noodles, add the frozen peas, ham and the sauce. Mix well and pour into rectangular baking dish approximately 9 by 13.
  • Cover with French Fried onions.
  • Bake for 20 minutes.

1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram (or thyme)
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 cups Swiss cheese (shredded)
2 cups turkey meat (cooked, diced)
Topping:
1 cup soft breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon butter​
Optional: 1 cup frozen peas
Optional: 1 cup carrots

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients and preheat oven to 350 F.
  • Grease a 2-quart baking dish.
  • Cook pasta (you can use mini fusilli or farfalle, macaroni, or other shapes) in boiling salted water following package directions. Drain, rinse and set aside.
  • Heat butter in a large skillet and saute the onion and celery over medium-low heat until softened.
  • Add ham and stir in flour until well combined.
  • Gradually stir in the milk until thickened. Add marjoram, salt, and pepper. Stir in the cheese, turkey, and peas and carrots, if using.
  • Add the cooked pasta and blend thoroughly. Spoon the pasta mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  • Combine breadcrumbs with 1 tablespoon melted butter; sprinkle over the top of the casserole.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until bubbly and the topping is browned.

Ham and Swiss Casserole image

This is one of the only casseroles that my picky husband will eat.

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 cups egg noodles
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup chopped onions
1 (6 ounce) can mushrooms, drained
1 cup diced cooked ham
1 cup diced Swiss cheese
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
2 eggs
¼ cup milk
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add egg noodles and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  • Toss drained noodles with 2 teaspoons of the oil. Heat remaining oil in a skillet and saute onion over medium heat until soft. Combine noodles, onion, mushrooms, ham, Swiss cheese, salt and pepper. Transfer to a greased 3 quart casserole dish. In a bowl mix together egg and milk; pour over noodle mixture. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
  • Bake in a preheated oven for 30 minutes.
