TASTY HAM-OLIVE SPREAD



Tasty Ham-Olive Spread image

Makes a wonderful addition to an appetizer table. Olives add the zip to the ham spread. Add some diced cheddar cheese for a different taste. For sandwiches, I use toasted whole wheat or pumpernickel.

1 cup cooked ham, ground
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons celery, minced
2 tablespoons green onions, minced
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons diced green olives, with pimentos
1/2 tablespoon parsley, minced
salt and fresh pepper
1 dash Tabasco sauce (optional)

Steps:

  • Place cubed left-over ham in food processor; pulse to grind. (Careful, not too much).
  • Remove to mixing bowl and add remaining ingredients.
  • Refrigerate, covered, until ready to serve.
  • Serve with baquettes, crackers or sturdy tortilla chips.

Very quick and yummy. I don't usually buy sliced cooked deli ham but for this it works really well (the square kind in the package, ie. Schniders). Make lots because these are always a hit.

20 pimento stuffed olives
4 slices cooked deli ham
6 tablespoons light cream cheese
toothpick

Steps:

  • take olives out of jar and dry on papertowel.
  • dry ham with papertowel also.
  • spread about 1 1/2 tbsp of cream cheese on each slice of ham.
  • gently cut each piece of ham into 5 strips using serrated knife.
  • lay olive at end of one strip and roll up.
  • pierce with toothpick.

8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
4 1/2 ounces and chopped black olives (or about the same amount chopped green olives with pimento)
32 slices thinly sliced salami (about 1 1/2 pounds)

Steps:

  • Combine softened cream cheese and chopped olives mixing well. Spread each slice of salami with some cheese mixture and roll up securing with a toothpick.

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
3 garlic cloves, chopped
1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
6 tablespoons olive oil
2 14-ounce cans hearts of palm, drained, rinsed
6 ounces ham, cut into matchstick-size strips (about 1 1/2 cups)
1 cup assorted olives, pitted, sliced
Lettuce leaves

Steps:

  • Combine first 4 ingredients in small bowl. Gradually whisk in oil. Season dressing to taste with salt and pepper.
  • Cut hearts of palm on diagonal into 1/2-inch-thick slices. Place in large bowl. Add ham and olives. Toss with enough dressing to coat generously.
  • Arrange lettuce leaves on plates. Spoon salad atop lettuce and serve.

1 c philadelphia cream cheese
2 can(s) ham flakes
2 flour tortillas any flavor

Steps:

  • 1. Mash the ham flakes. I do it with a potato masher.
  • 2. Add Philadelphia Cream cheese and mash the two ingredients together until well blended.
  • 3. Spread the mixture on tortillas up to the edges and roll. Fill the ends. Put in a container and refrigerate for a couple of hours before cutting into bite-size pieces.

1 cup Original Bisquick™ mix
1 teaspoon dried basil leaves
1/3 cup spicy hot vegetable juice
1 package (8 oz) deli ham slices (8 thin slices)
48 pimiento-stuffed green olives

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400°F. In medium bowl, stir Bisquick mix, basil and vegetable juice until soft dough forms; beat vigorously 20 strokes. Place dough on surface sprinkled with Bisquick mix; roll in Bisquick mix to coat. Shape into a ball; knead 5 times.
  • Press or roll dough about 1/4 inch thick. With 1 1/4-inch round cutter, cut into rounds. Gather dough scraps together and reroll; cut to make 48 rounds. On ungreased cookie sheet, place dough rounds 1 inch apart.
  • Bake 6 to 8 minutes or until edges begin to turn golden brown. Remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack. Cool 10 minutes.
  • Cut each ham slice into 6 wedge-shaped pieces; roll up each wedge. For each appetizer, spear toothpick into olive, 1 piece of rolled-up ham and baked round.
