8 eggs
1 cup milk
salt and pepper to taste
2 cups diced ham
1 cup shredded American cheese

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  • Beat eggs in a large bowl, making sure that they are mixed very well and have a 'frothy' top. Add the milk, salt and pepper. Mix well. Stir in ham, then add cheese pieces and stir well. Pour mixture into a well greased 4 quart casserole dish and bake in the preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes or until top is lightly browned.

This Instant Pot recipe will blow your mind, with an ultra-cheesy and buttery flavor and a fried egg on top for an extra punch of protein. Number Of Ingredients 7

1 - 1 1/2 cup water
1 cup steel cut oats, quick cooking or regular
2 cup chicken broth
2 teaspoon butter
2 slices of cheese
salt and pepper, to taste
eggs, optional to top off the oatmeal

Steps:

  • Pour 1 cup of water into your Instant Pot, 1.5 cups of water if you have the 8 quart.
  • Place a trivet in the bottom of the pot.
  • Place the stackable pot or oven safe vessel onto the trivet.
  • Put in 1 cup of oats, 2 cups of broth, salt and pepper.
  • I use 2 pinches of salt and 1 of pepper, but adjust to your preference and broth choice.
  • Top with the butter.
  • Lay the 2 pieces of cheese on top.
  • Put the lid on the stackable pot or if you don't have a lid, use aluminum foil.
  • Pressure ON HIGH for 14 minutes.
  • If using quick cooking oats, quick release the pressure when it's done cooking.
  • If using regular steel cuts oats, let the pressure come down naturally for 10 minutes, then release the remaining pressure.
  • Carefully, remove the lid and the pot of oatmeal.
  • Stir and check for salt and pepper.
  • I like to fry up an egg and toss it on top.

8 ounces sourdough bread (cut into ¾-inch cubes (about 6 cups) (I used a whole grain bread, but any version will work))
Cooking spray
8 ounces diced cooked ham (can substitute with an equal amount of cooked bacon or sausage if preferred)
1 cup milk (I used 2% milk, but whole milk would also work. Just don't use skim!)
1/3 cup thinly-sliced green onions
1 ½ teaspoons minced garlic
½ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon grated nutmeg
¼ teaspoon salt
6 large eggs (lightly beaten)
2 ounces cheddar cheese (shredded (about ½ cup))

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Arrange bread on a baking sheet; coat with cooking spray. Bake for 10 minutes, or until toasted, stirring halfway through.
  • Spray an 8-inch square baking dish with cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together milk and next 6 ingredients (through eggs).
  • In bottom of prepared baking dish, toss together toasted bread and diced ham. Pour egg mixture over top. Sprinkle with cheese.
  • Bake uncovered at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes, or until strata is puffed around the edges and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Note: This casserole can be made in advance and kept covered in the refrigerator overnight until ready to bake.

4 ounces lean Black Forest ham, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
3 ounces shredded Gruyere or Cheddar (about 3/4 cup)
1/3 cup chopped fresh chives (about 1/3 small bunch); plus more for garnish
2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
4 large eggs

Steps:

  • Bring 4 1/4 cups water, 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper to a boil in a large saucepan. Stir in the oats, reduce heat to medium and cook, stirring constantly, until the oats are soft and the oatmeal is slightly thickened, about 7 minutes. Stir in the ham, cheese and chives and remove the saucepan from the heat.
  • Heat the oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Carefully crack the eggs into the pan and cook until the whites are set and slightly crispy and the yolk is still runny, 2 to 3 minutes. Sprinkle with 1/4 teaspoon salt.
  • Transfer the oatmeal to individual bowls. Top each with an egg, sprinkle with additional fresh chives and serve.
