PUMPKIN SLOPPY JOES
From perfect entertaining: This savory dish, a variation of Sloppy Joes with a Halloween twist is very flavorful and unique. Sloppy Joes don't have to go far to look slightly disgusting and messy, and this version is sure to please all those sloppy eaters. This is also a very low fat dish that is perfect to serve to mixed company. Kids will love the sloppiness and adults will appreciate the slightly more "grown up" flavor. This is great on rolls or thick slices of French bread, my preference.

Steps:
- In 10-inch nonstick skillet, cook beef over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thoroughly cooked. Drain; set aside. Add onion and bell pepper to skillet; cook 5 minutes or until tender. Stir in cooked beef, tomatoes, ketchup, chili powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Cook 2 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Spoon beef mixture onto buns. On top of each bun, place 2 olives to look like eyes; poke toothpick in center of each to hold in place. Make sloppy joe sliders by piling meat mixture onto miniature buns.
SPOOKY SLOPPY JOES
These sloppy joes can be decorated on the bun with olives and cheese to make a monster face, or with olives and bell pepper strips to look like spiders, or (what I do) cheese slices cut to look like a Jack 'O Lantern face. This one is ALL about your imagination when it comes to decorating them. One friend "drew" a ghostly hand with colored ketchup on the top of her and another cut ghosts out of mozzerella cheese. Let your imagination run wild.

JACK-O-LANTERN SLOPPY JOE PIE (HALLOWEEN RECIPE)
From Taste of Home Simple & Delicious October, 2008. I haven't tried this recipe yet, but plan on making this for Halloween pot-luck I'm going to. Description from Bonnie Hawkins of Elkhorn, Wisconsion: "This is so much fun to do - and kids love it! You'll never have to worry about leftovers. It's even good for adult parties... but you might want to increase the heat level with a hotter salsa or seasonings." Author suggests garnishing with cilantro or parsley for a pumpkin stem. I imagine you could make this pie without cutting out the Jack-O-Lantern face on the pie crust and it would be just fine.
