8 Oz Halibut fillet (Cut in half)
1/4 Tsp Sea Salt (Prefer Himalayan Pink Sea Salt)
1/4 Tsp Pepper
1 Tbsp Ghee
1 Shallot (Minced)
1/4 Cup White wine (Low sodium chicken broth can substitute)

HALIBUT WITH CREAMY GARLIC AND HERB SAUCE

Halibut with Creamy Garlic and Herb Sauce image

This fresh dish is sure to please at your next dinner party! The red pepper flakes add a little kick, and toasted almonds add a delicious crunch. I like to serve this with orzo pasta or rice pilaf. This dish can also be made with fat-free half and half and low-sodium chicken broth for healthier options.

Yield 4

Number Of Ingredients 19

4 (6 ounce) halibut fillets
1 tablespoon lemon juice
salt and pepper to taste
2 sprigs cilantro leaves
2 tablespoons butter
4 green onions, finely chopped
¼ cup red bell pepper, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes
¼ cup dry white wine
1 teaspoon dried dill weed
1 teaspoon dried tarragon
1 cup chicken broth
½ cup half-and-half cream
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
¼ cup water
toasted slivered almonds

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a shallow baking dish.
  • Rub the halibut fillets with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, then season with salt and pepper. Place the fillets into the prepared baking dish, then press the cilantro leaves onto the top of the halibut. Bake the halibut in the preheated oven until the fish flakes easily with a fork, 15 to 20 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Stir in the green onions, red bell pepper, garlic, and red pepper flakes until the vegetables have softened, about 5 minutes. Pour in the white wine, and season with dill and tarragon. Simmer for 2 minutes, then add the chicken broth, half-and-half, Parmesan cheese, and remaining 1 tablespoon of lemon juice; season with salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then dissolve the flour into the water, and stir into the boiling sauce. Return to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low, and simmer until the sauce has thickened, about 10 minutes. Spoon the sauce over the halibut to serve.

PAN SEARED HALIBUT RECIPE WITH LEMON BUTTER SAUCE

Pan Seared Halibut Recipe With Lemon Butter Sauce image

This pan seared halibut recipe with lemon butter sauce takes just 20 minutes... which you'd never guess with how fancy pan fried halibut looks. I'll show you how to pan sear halibut, plus how to make the perfect sauce for halibut.

Provided by Maya Krampf

Categories     dinner     Main Course

Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 6-oz Halibut fillets ((1.5 lb total))
1/2 tsp Garlic powder
1/2 tsp Paprika
1 tsp Sea salt
1/4 tsp Black pepper
2 tbsp Olive oil
1/2 cup Salted butter
1 medium Lemon ((cut in half))

Steps:

  • Use paper towels to pat the halibut fillets completely dry - this will ensure even browning. Season the fish on both sides with garlic powder, paprika, sea salt, and black pepper. Set aside.
  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat for 2 minutes.
  • Add the fish fillets in a single layer (you can do it in batches if all the fish won't fit in a single layer). Sear, without moving, for 3-4 minutes, until the edges of the fish are opaque. Flip and cook for 2-4 minutes, until cooked through.
  • Remove the fish from the pan and cover tightly with foil to keep warm.
  • Reduce heat to medium-low. Add the butter to the same pan. Wait for it to melt, then heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the butter is browned and smells nutty.TIP: If you like garlic, you can also use this lemon butter sauce recipe.
  • Use the Zulay Kitchen Lemon Squeezer to squeeze all the juice from both halves of the lemon into the pan. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat and simmer for about 3-4 minutes, stirring often, until volume is reduced by half. The lemon butter sauce will still be thin.
  • Drizzle a little lemon butter sauce over each serving plate. Place the pan seared halibut fillets over the sauce, then drizzle more sauce on top.

TOMATO TARRAGON CREAM SAUCE RECIPE

Tomato Tarragon Cream Sauce Recipe image

Provided by G. Stephen Jones

Categories     Sauces

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 7

4 tablespoons butter
1 shallot (minced)
4 cloves garlic (minced)
2 pints grape tomatoes (we used red and yellow, cut in half lenghtwise)
salt and pepper (to taste)
3 tablespoons crème fraiche
2 tablespoons fresh tarragon leaves (finely chopped)

Steps:

  • Heat up a saucepan or saute pan large enough to hold all the tomatoes over medium heat. When hot, add 2 tablespoons of the butter and let it melt.
  • Add the shallot and cook for a couple of minutes and then add the garlic. Stir and cook for another minute or two until the garlic becomes fragrant but do not let it burn.
  • Add the tomatoes, season with a little salt and pepper, stir and cook until the tomatoes start to soften. This can take anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes depending on you stove. If they break down more than you expect, don't fear, they will still be great in the sauce.
  • Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter to the pan with the creme fraiche and the chopped tarragon leaves. Stir to combine and cook for a minute or two.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
