GUTHRIE'S CHICKEN SPECIAL SAUCE



Guthrie's Chicken Special Sauce image

A copycat recipe from a chain of restaurants called Guthrie's. This sauce is just great on chicken fingers.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/2 cup Hellmann's mayonnaise
1/4 cup Heinz ketchup
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon vinegar
black pepper

Steps:

  • In a bowl, mix all ingredients together except for the black pepper.
  • Now, cover the top surface of the sauce with black pepper and stir until blended again.
  • Repeat process with the another layer of black pepper and stir until blended.
  • You must let the sauce sit in the refrigerator for about two hours prior to use in order for the flavors to mingle.

The very sauce recipe used in Raising Cane's. I tested and made sure to include all of the ingredients. I like this proportion as it is not too much or too little. I calculated the proportion based on the exact use of the huge tubs made at the actual places.

1 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup ketchup
1/2 tablespoon garlic salt
1 1/2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tablespoon fresh ground black pepper
2 teaspoons paprika

Steps:

  • Mix mayonnaise, ketchup, garlic salt, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, and paprika together.
  • Refrigerate before using.

This sauce is really good with chicken and a great alternative to the traditional BBQ sauce. I like the full teaspoon of black pepper. This is also great on a chicken sandwich.

½ cup mayonnaise
¼ cup ketchup
½ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, or more to taste

Steps:

  • Whisk mayonnaise, ketchup, and garlic powder together in a bowl; add Worcestershire sauce to the mayonnaise mixture and whisk until smooth.
  • Sprinkle enough black pepper over the surface of the mayonnaise mixture to cover; stir to incorporate. Repeat sprinkling and stirring of black pepper.
  • Cover bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate until the seasonings have blended into the sauce, at least 2 hours.
