HARIBO GOLD-BEARS GUMMY CANDY HACK

Haribo Gold-Bears Gummy Candy Hack image

The nearly 100-year-old German candy recipe can be hacked with Jell-O and a few other ingredients. This recipe makes one flavor, but can be repeated for every flavor you want to include in the finished product.

Provided by Todd Wilbur

Time P3DT20m

Yield 50 pieces

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 3-ounce box Jell-O Gelatin Dessert powder ((Raspberry, lemon, orange, pineapple, lime or strawberry))
1 pkg. Knox unflavored gelatin (7.2g)
1/4 teaspoon citric acid
1/4 cup corn syrup
1/3 cup water ((room temperature))
2 1-inch silicone bear candy molds
Oil cooking spray

Steps:

  • Combine Jell-O, unflavored gelatin and citric acid in a medium microwave-safe bowl and stir to combine.
  • Add the corn syrup and water, and stir gently with a soup spoon until all of the ingredients are blended together. Stirring too fast may add air bubbles to the mixture, so keep it slow and sweeping. Let the mixture sit for 5 minutes so that the gelatin can bloom.
  • Stir the candy syrup gently again, then microwave it on high for 30 seconds. Stir it again, then zap it for another 15 seconds. Repeat heating it for 15 seconds 3 more times for a total heating time of 1 1/2 minutes. If air bubbles begin to form on the surface of the gelatin, stop heating and stir gently. You don't want any bubbles in the syrup if you can help it. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes. Give the solution a gentle stir every couple of minutes and you should see it become clearer over time.
  • Spray the bear molds lightly with oil spray.
  • Pour the candy syrup into a measuring cup with a spout, then carefully pour the liquid into the bear molds. Don't fill each bear all of the way to the top. Leave a little room in each mold.
  • Let the candy sit for 30 minutes, then put the molds into your refrigerator for another 30 minutes.
  • When the candy is firm push each piece out of the molds and arrange them on a baking sheet or in a large storage container so that they are each standing upright. Let them sit this way for 48 hours, then lay them on their backs for 24 hours. This process will help the bears dehydrate so that they are chewy like the originals. Depending on your climate, your gummy bears may have shrunken enough after 72 hours. If not, leave them out for another day or two, until they are chewy. Toss them around every so often as they dry out. When they are chewy enough for you, seal them up in an air-tight covered container or zip-top bag. Keep them stored in a sealed container and they should last for a couple weeks.

HOMEMADE GUMMY BEARS

Homemade Gummy Bears image

Who knew it was so simple and quick to make one of the most beloved, nostalgic treats out there? Gummy bears might have been your favorite as a child, and now they'll be your favorite again with this quick and easy recipe.

Provided by Food Network Kitchen

Categories     dessert

Time 45m

Yield 100 gummy bears

Number Of Ingredients 3

1/2 cup fruit juice, such as cranberry, grape, orange or lemonade
2 tablespoons unflavored powdered gelatin
2 tablespoons sugar

Steps:

  • Combine the fruit juice or lemonade, gelatin and sugar in a small saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring often, until the gelatin and sugar dissolve completely, about 1 minute (make sure there is no undissolved sugar stuck to the bottom of the saucepan). If any foam forms while stirring, skim it off and discard. Transfer the mixture to a small liquid measuring cup.
  • Put the gummy bear molds on a flat surface and slowly fill each cup to the top. Give each mold a small shake to ensure the mixture settles to the bottom. Refrigerate until the mixture sets, about 10 minutes. Store at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

HOMEMADE GUMMY BEARS

Homemade Gummy Bears image

It's easier than you think to make your own gummy bears at home. All you need is flavored and unflavored gelatin and water, as well as a bear mold.

Provided by Elizabeth LaBau

Categories     Candy

Time 37m

Number Of Ingredients 4

3 ounces flavored gelatin
1 (1/4-ounce) envelope unflavored gelatin
1/3 cup cold water
Optional: 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon citric acid (for sour gummies)

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Spray a paper towel with nonstick cooking spray , then rub it lightly around the bear cavities in the mold to coat them with a thin layer of oil.
  • In a small bowl, combine both gelatins and the cold water.
  • Whisk them together, then let them sit at room temperature for 10 minutes to allow the gelatin to soak up the water and soften.
  • Place the bowl in the microwave and cook for 30 seconds, then whisk well. Microwave for another 30 seconds and stir. The sugar should be dissolved and the mixture well mixed. If not, microwave for another 10 to 15 seconds until the sugar and gelatin are completely dissolved. Pour it into a measuring cup with a spout.
  • Pour the gelatin into the cavities. Alternatively, you can use a food-grade dropper to drop the mixture more precisely into the molds.
  • Place the candy mold in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes to set the gelatin.
  • To remove the bears, carefully push the sides away from the edges and toward the center, then pull them up and out of the molds. Repeat with other colors and flavors of gelatin, as desired.
  • Serve and enjoy.

CHOCOLATE COVERED GUMMY BEARS

Chocolate Covered Gummy Bears image

Provided by admin

Categories     Snack

Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 3

1 cup chocolate chips
1 bag gummy bears (we use Haribo, but other kinds would likely work too)
1 tbsp heavy cream

Steps:

  • Place 1 cup chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 30 second intervals, 1 minute total until chocolate is melted. Be careful to not over heat as this could cause the bears to melt.
  • Stir chocolate, while adding 1 tbsp heavy cream. Mix until smooth.
  • Place a gummy bear foot first on a toothpick, then dip into the chocolate, while twisting. Once the bear is completely covered, remove from chocolate and place on parchment paper or wax paper.
  • After each of the bears have been dipped, move them to the freezer for rapid cooling. This will help the chocolate harden. Serve and Enjoy!

GUMMY BEAR RECIPE

Gummy Bear Recipe image

This gummy bear recipe makes shelf-stable gummy bears that taste just like the real thing! Switch up the flavors and colors and make them unique

Provided by Elizabeth Marek

Categories     Dessert

Number Of Ingredients 7

8 ounces granulated sugar
3 Tablespoons sorbitol
8 ounces corn syrup (glucose, honey or golden syrup can be subbed)
6 ounces cool water (fruit juice, wine or vodka can be subbed)
44 grams KNOX gelatin (about 6 packets)
2 teaspoons citric acid (leave out if you're using alcohol)
1 1/2 teaspoon candy flavoring (I used raspberry, strawberry and tropical punch)

Steps:

  • Combine gelatin, and water (or flavored liquid) in a heatproof container. Stir gently to combine. Let sit for 5 minutes to give your gelatin time to bloom.
  • Combine together the corn syrup, sugar, and sorbitol in a medium saucepan. Stir gently to combine. Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat.
  • Once simmering, wash down the sides of the pan with water using a clean pastry brush to make sure any stray grains of sugar is dissolved fully.
  • Remove the mixture from the heat and stir in your citric acid and gelatin mixture with a spatula until gelatin is melted.
  • Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes and allow the mixture to clear and foam to collect at the top. After 10 minutes the foam should be able to be easily scooped off the surface with a spoon.
  • Divide your mixture by straining the liquid into three bowls and add in any coloring or candy flavorings that you want. I used pink, blue and yellow food coloring.
  • Spray your molds lightly with some oil and wipe out the excess. Pour your mixture into your molds.
  • Let your gummy bears chill in the fridge for 6 hours until the bears are set but 24 hours is best. Once they are set they can be stored at room temperature.

Number Of Ingredients 2

2 squares chocolate bark (from a 24-ounce package)
1 package (4-ounce) large gummy bears

Steps:

  • Melt two squares of chocolate bark (from the 24-ounce package). You can do this in the microwave. Just place 2 squares in a microwave-safe bowl and heat on high for 1 minute. If the bark is not completely melted, return to the microwave for an additional 10-15 seconds. Stir until smooth.
  • Spritz a piece of waxed or parchment paper with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Place gummy bears, 3 or 4 at a time, in melted chocolate. Using a spoon, turn the bears in the chocolate until they are coated with chocolate. Use the spoon to gently place the bear on the waxed or parchment paper.
  • Allow the chocolate to harden. This can be done on the counter or the bears can be placed in the fridge for around 5-10 minutes.

Cannabis gummy bears and gummy worms are carving out a place as one of the most enjoyable and popular ways to consume cannabis

Provided by Ben Hartman

Categories     dessert

Time 1h5m

Yield 1

Number Of Ingredients 5

0.5 cup cannabis-infused coconut oil
0.5 cup cold water
3 oz packet of flavored gelatin (this is the standard size small box of Jell-o)
2 Tbsp unflavored gelatin
0.5 tsp sunflower or soy lecithin

Steps:

  • Add the water, cannabis-infused coconut oil, and sunflower/soy lecithin to the pot and place on the stove on low heat.
  • Stir until the oil is completely melted and the mixture has a consistent texture. Add in the flavored and unflavored gelatin, stirring constantly.
  • Keep on low heat for 10-15 min until the gelatin is dissolved, making sure to constantly whisk the mixture and make sure it does not come to a boil.
  • Using a fine-mesh strainer, strain mixture to catch any lumps of undissolved gelatin and impurities.
  • Use a dropper to fill the gummy molds one by one, and do so quickly so that the liquid doesn't cool and begin to separate. Make sure to double back and stir the rest of the mixture frequently so it doesn't harden.
  • Once the mold is full, put the gummies in the freezer for 20-25 minutes.

GUMMY BEAR BARK

Gummy Bear Bark image

Provided by Molly Yeh

Categories     dessert

Time 1h35m

Yield 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 9

15 cinnamon graham crackers (full sheets)
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
12 ounces yogurt chips
Gel or oil food coloring, optional
1 heaping cup gummy bears
Flaky salt
Sprinkles, optional

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the graham crackers on top so that they're side-by-side.
  • Heat the butter, sugar and salt in a saucepan over medium heat, whisking. Once it starts to bubble, heat for 3 more minutes, then carefully pour over the graham crackers, spreading it out evenly with a spatula. Bake until bubbling, 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle on the yogurt chips; let them melt for a few minutes. Use an offset spatula to spread them evenly all over. Add a few drops of food coloring, if desired, and swirl it around to get a marbled effect. Scatter on the gummy bears, a pinch of flaky salt and sprinkles, if using. Let set in the fridge until firm, 1 hour or up to overnight, then cut or break into pieces. Enjoy!

  • Gummy worm popsicles. Making your own popsicles has always been a classic summer activity, and it’s also always been easy. Even when we simply freeze some juice in a popsicle shape our kids adore eating them basically all year round.
  • Worms in dirt. Here’s another classic that we actually remember eating when we were little kids! The dirt, of course, is really chocolate pudding and crushed cookies and the worms are gummy worms.
  • Dirt cupcakes. Were you a pretty big fan of the whole “worms in dirt” idea above but you’re throwing a birthday party and you’d just rather serve the kids finger foods instead of something they have to eat using a spoon and a bowl?
  • Rainbow gummy bear pinata cake. Perhaps the thing your kids like best about eating gummy candies is how many bright, fun colours they come in! Our kids have been really into rainbows lately, so any project, food, or thing that involves lots of fun shades and hues is a big hit with them.
  • Dirt and worms brownies. Are you still thinking about the first and worms, even if that’s just because you’re the kind of chocolate lover who will eat essentially anything as long as it’s got sweet cocoa?
  • Worm filled popcorn balls. Has your family been obsessed with the sweet and salty snack trend lately, loving the way you can get such a good flavour contrast in one place?
  • Chocolate gummy bear bark. Are your kids such sugar fiends that they’ll eat all different kinds of sugar in one place, no matter whether you happen to think things like chocolate and candy go together or not?
  • Gummy bear white chocolate cupcakes. We’ve talked a lot about chocolate in this this so far, but what if you’re actually not the biggest fan of dark and milk chocolate because they’re so rich?
  • Salted chocolate dipped gummy bear cookies. If you’re looking for a recipe that’s really novelty then this one from Hugs and Cookies, xoxo is precisely what you need!
  • Gummy candy donuts. Okay, we’ll admit it- here’s a funny gummy recipe that we just couldn’t get past or make ourselves actually eat! Even so, we did suck it up and make these with our kids.
