- In a skillet, cook beef over medium heat until no longer pink; drain. Stir in tomato sauce, cheese, onion, bouillon and garlic powder. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes or until bouillon is dissolved and cheese is melted. Cut the bread in half widthwise and lengthwise. Carefully hollow out top and bottom of loaf, leaving a 1/2-in. shell (discard removed bread or save for another use). Spoon meat mixture into bottom halves of bread. Top with additional cheese if desired, green pepper and tomato. Replace bread tops. Wrap in heavy-duty foil. Bake at 400° for 15-20 minutes or until heated through. Slice and serve warm.

- Heat oven to 450. Meanwhile, add oil, onion, and pepper to large skillet. Sautee on medium-high until vegetables are soft, about 7-10 minutes.
- Add beef and Worcestershire sauce, sautéing for an additional 2 to 3 minutes.
- Place hoagie rolls on baking sheet. Divide meat mixture evenly among rolls. Top with cheese. Bake until cheese has melted, about 5 minutes. Serve immediately.

They are all grown and gone now and since it's just my husband and me, I've scaled down the size of this recipe so that there's just enough...

- 1. Wash and slice mushrooms; peel, quarter and slice onion and set aside. In large skillet, heat 3 to 4 tablespoons olive oil. When hot, add mushrooms, onions and ground beef. Add seasonings and cook until ground beef is browned, onions are transparent and mushrooms are cooked. Drain and blot with paper towels to remove as much excess grease as possible, return to pan and set aside.
- 2. Prepare mushroom gravy mix according to package directions. When done, pour into ground beef mixture and add mozzarella cheese. Continue to heat until cheese melts and mixture is thoroughly heated.
- 3. Slice hoagie rolls and spoon mixture into rolls. Add additional cheese, if desired and serve with chips, fries, salads or any other sides you like.
- 4. This recipe is very easily tweeked to your family's likings. You may also add in extras such as green peppers or spice it up with jalapeno peppers. You can also adjust the seasonings. This recipe is very easily doubled or even trippled to serve a lot of people. I sincerely hope that y'all enjoy!
ITALIAN LOOSE MEAT HOAGIES

- In a medium saucepan on the stovetop, saute the diced onion over medium-high in a couple of drizzles of olive oil. Season with salt and black pepper to your taste. Saute until the onion softens and is beginning to brown, then add the sliced peppers.
- Saute for 2-3 minutes, then add the minced garlic, ground beef and Italian sausage. Season the meat with salt and black pepper. Cook until no pink remains and the sausage and ground beef have browned. Drain all excess fat from the pan.
- Add the Worcestershire sauce, pizza sauce, Italian seasoning and oregano. Stir well, then cook for another 6-8 minutes until heated through.
- Set the oven on the broil setting. Butter and lightly toast the hoagie rolls.
- Fill with loose meat and top with slices of provolone or mozzarella cheese.
- Return to the oven to melt the cheese.
- Serve immediately.

- Heat a large skillet coated with cooking spray over medium-high heat. Add the onions and sauté until they begin to soften. Crumble the ground beef into the pan and cook until browned.
- Add the mushrooms and continue to cook until the mushrooms are browned and have released their juices.
- Combine the remaining ingredients with a whisk in a small bowl. Pour over the beef mixture and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
- Preheat the broiler.
- Slice the rolls almost in half. Coat the inside of the tops with butter. Place 1/2 to 2/3 cup of the beef mixture over the bottom of each of the four hoagie rolls. Top with one slice of cheese cut into half and broil until the cheese is melted and lightly browned.
- Remove from heat, slice in half, and serve with Easy Fries.
