SESAME-GINGER TURKEY PATTIES



Sesame-Ginger Turkey Patties image

Very good, flavorful patties. You could also use ground pork instead of the turkey. We like these by themselves, but they are very good on a bun with some grilled pineapple.

1 1/2 tablespoons reduced sodium soy sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 scallion, chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
1 lb ground turkey

Steps:

  • Whisk together the soy sauce, sesame oil, scallion, garlic and ginger.
  • Place ground turkey in a medium bowl, mix in sauce and gently combine using your hands.
  • Cover bowl and place in fridge for 20-30 minutes.
  • Form into 4 patties, and grill turning once, 4-5 minutes per side.

Grilled Sesame-Ginger Turkey Slices image

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
1 tablespoon sesame seeds, toasted*
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 pound uncooked turkey breast slices, about 1/4 inch thick
hot cooked noodles or rice, if desired
2 , medium green onions, , sliced (2 tablespoons)

Steps:

  • 1. Heat coals or gas grill. Mix teriyaki sauce, sesame seed and ginger. 2. Cover and grill turkey 4 to 6 inches from medium heat 8 to 10 minutes, turning and brushing with sauce mixture after 5 minutes, until turkey is no longer pink in center. Discard any remaining sauce mixture. Serve turkey with noodles. Sprinkle with onions. *To toast sesame, bake uncovered in ungreased shallow pan in 350° oven 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown. Or cook in ungreased heavy skillet over medium heat about 2 minutes, stirring frequently until until browning begins, then stirring constantly until golden brown.
