Golden, perfectly toasted, and filled with luscious melted cheese, these hearty Baked Grilled Cheese Sandwiches are a comforting dinner that's super quick and extra delicious!

8 slices sourdough bread, (you can also use white bread)
½ cup mayonnaise, (add more if you prefer)
2 tablespoons dijon mustard
8 slices mozzarella cheese
8 slices sharp cheddar cheese
4 tablespoons butter, (softened)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 450˚F.
  • Lightly butter one side of each slice of bread.
  • Arrange bread slices, buttered side down, on a large baking sheet.
  • In a small bowl combine mayonnaise and dijon mustard; mix until incorporated.
  • Spread the mayo mixture over bread. Add more, if you like.
  • Place 2 slices of cheese on each slice of bread.
  • Sandwich the breads together - you should have 4 sandwiches.
  • Pop them in the oven for 4 minutes; flip and continue to cook for 3 to 4 more minutes, or until golden brown and cheese is melty.
  • Remove from oven and transfer to a cutting board.
  • Cut each sandwich in half and serve.

8 slices whole wheat bread (whole-wheat or multigrain)
8 teaspoons light butter (light or reduced-fat) or 8 teaspoons margarine (light or reduced-fat)
6 ounces low-fat cheddar cheese (nonfat or reduced-fat) or 6 ounces American cheese, thinly sliced (nonfat or reduced-fat)

Steps:

  • Arrange bread slices on flat surface.
  • Spray 1 side of each slice with the butter cooking spray or spread with 1 teaspoons of the light butter or reduced-fat margarine.
  • Preheat large nonstick skillet or griddle over medium-low heat and place sandwiches in it.
  • Cook for about 3 minutes on each side, or until the bread is toasted and cheese is melted.
  • Cut each sandwich in half, and serve hot.

2 slices whole wheat bread
1 slice cheese (American cheese)
Pam cooking spray
grated parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • For this sandwich, I used the George Foreman Grill, but any panini grill will work also.
  • Spray PAM on one side of the bread. Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese on the PAM sprayed side. Place the slice of bread with the grated parmesan side down. Place a slice of cheese on top. Put the second slice of bread on top of the cheese.
  • Spray PAM on the top side of the second slice of bread. Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese on top.
  • Close your grill and wait.
  • ENJOY!

  • To prepare this egg and cheese grilled sandwich recipe, lay the whole wheat bread slices on a clean surface (or a tray). Carefully spread butter on one side of the bread slices. Once done, keep them aside until needed again.
  • Next, put a non-stick pan on medium flame and melt butter in it. Once the butter has melted, crack open eggs in the pan. Cook the eggs until the egg whites are completely settled and the egg yolk becomes thick. Top it up with black pepper powder and salt to add more flavour. Then, remove the eggs from the pan and keep them aside.
