The extra butter added at the end helps emulsify the sauce, but you can get away with less, if you like.

Steps:
- Melt 2 Tbs. of the butter in a large sauté pan over medium heat. Add the almonds and cook, tossing frequently, until they're light brown and toasted, 3 to 4 min. Transfer them with a slotted spoon to a plate lined with paper towels.
- Add the green beans, garlic, and salt to the pan. Toss to coat the beans with the residual butter. Add the water and simmer gently, tossing occasionally, until the beans are fork-tender and fully cooked (taste one to check), about 15 min. The liquid should be reduced to about 1/4 cup or less; if there's too much liquid, increase the heat to a boil and let it reduce briefly. Add the remaining 2 Tbs. butter and toss to coat the beans and emulsify with the liquid. Add the pepper, toss, and adjust the seasonings as needed. Scatter the slivered almonds over the serving platter or over each serving.

- Spread green beans in a single layer on baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil. Roll the green beans in the olive oil so each one is nicely coated. Liberally salt and pepper. Bake for 15 minutes.
- Remove from the oven. Flip green beans. Spread minced garlic and slivered almonds. Place back in the oven and bake for an additional 5 to 7 minutes. (Keep an eye on the almond slivers. You want them browned but not blackened. 7 minutes is the sweet spot for my oven.)

- In a large skillet over medium-low heat, melt the butter. Once it’s completely melted, add the almonds. Cook, stirring constantly with a heatproof spatula or wooden spoon, until the butter has browned and the almonds are beginning to brown, about 7 to 8 minutes. (Your patience will pay off, I promise!)
- Add the shallot and cook, while stirring constantly, for 1 minute. Stir in the lemon juice and 1 tablespoon water. While stirring, cook until the liquid thickens enough that your spatula leaves an open trail on the pan behind it, about 1 more minute.
- Use your spatula to scoop all the mixture into a bowl, and set it aside for now. Return the empty skillet to the stovetop, and add the green beans, ½ cup water and ½ teaspoon salt. Cover and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the beans are nearly tender, about 9 to 10 minutes.
- Remove the lid and cook over medium-high heat until the liquid evaporates, about 2 to 4 minutes.

- Begin by snapping the ends off the green beans. You can snap the beans in half or leave them whole. I prefer to leave them whole for recipes like this simply because they make a prettier presentation on the plate.
- Heat the oils in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the beans and sauté, stirring frequently for 5-7 minutes. I prefer my veggies al dente, so I tend to cook them a little less. Cook yours a few minutes longer if you prefer them softer. Once the beans are close to the texture you prefer, add the salt, pepper, garlic powder, coconut aminos, and slivered almonds. Continue cooking, stirring constantly to evenly coat the beans with the seasonings for about 2 more minutes.
- Remove the skillet from the heat, and place the beans in a serving bowl, or dish directly onto plates. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds if desired.

- Add a small amount of water to a saucepan (enough to cover the bottom of the pan - about 1 inch) If you have a steamer basket, place it inside the saucepan and place the green beans on top of the basket. If you don't have a steamer basket, place the green beans into the water in the pan, they should not be completely covered with water.
- Cover the beans and cook over medium heat until they become crisp-tender, or to the texture of green beans that you prefer.
